Ayla came back after a while and involved me in various conversations. That's how I told her about the coming weekend. She freaked out with joy. And she freaked out even more when I mentioned Charles. I told her about his personality, the meeting yesterday and that Pascale is his mother. I was happy that the question about our first meeting didn't come up. To mention that I accidentally wanted to jump off the bridge might not have been so advantageous. Ayla was firmly convinced that Charles had an eye on me. „And you like him too.", she added and looked at me researching. Scared, I looked up. "What? No, no. So no more than you think," I denied her accusation. I don't even know how I feel about Charles. I am confused. I have never felt something like that before. It's hard to describe it.

While Ayla and I were running back home, she told me about her job in Canada. I listened to her attentively, I have always been fascinated by her stories from half my home country. "We found a sick caribou bull yesterday. He was in the thickest and we first thought he was dead. The herd had already moved on, which is very unusual because they never actually leave anyone behind.", Ayla sighed depressed, "In any case, we slowly got near to the bull first. John, one of my best colleagues, then looked after the animal and found out that we had to take it with us. Now he is with us in the home and is receiving veterinary care there," she concluded her story and forced herself to smile. I love Ayla's big heart for animals. If someone used to see a beetle at school, she was the only one who didn't hit it with the college block but tore a paper out of it and transported the beetle to the window. If there was a shortage of employees in the local animal shelter, she even skipped school just to help out there. Perhaps animals were a kind of therapy and distraction from life for her. I know that she didn't have it easy in her childhood, but I also know that she overplays all the pain that still sits in her heart with her crazy way.
„Did you give the caribou a name?" I asked and Ayla immediately started to shine. "Yes, what do you think? Guess which one." , even before I could give my tip, she proudly verbalized the name to me. "Taifun! Isn't the name great?"
I nodded violently and also beamed because I really liked the name. "Yes, he is. How did you or she come up with it?"
"I looked at him and knew: He will be strong like a typhoon." the blonde told me and looked towards the sea with a hopeful expression. I stroked her back and gave her a heartening look. "And you will be right. He will be strong!" I rolled the dice in with a smile.
She nodded vaguely. "I pray for him."

The following day, Ayla and I made our way to the city center around noon. After all, it's Marlow's wedding next week and I don't have a dress yet and I still don't know which shoes I should wear. Fortunately, I have a best friend who is very familiar with fashion and, above all, knows where to get something - of course at a fair price. However, the first three shops we checked out all had nothing special. In the fourth, we found a nice dress. It was light-red and tight. I went up to my ankles, but that's exactly what I love. It even had small glittering diamonds hanging on the chest, which represented the last touch.
Two stores away, Ayla then chose the perfect shoes for the dress. They were red high heels, but you won't see them much under the dress. Ayla also put two silver bracelets on the cash register that she thought would match the outfit. She can be really happy that I trust her. Otherwise, I would definitely not let her handle with my money like that.
On the promenade, we sat down on the terrace in a café there and had a beautiful view of the deep blue sea. The sun bounced down on us right in the middle at this time and spread hardly bearable heat. While Ayla reached for a limoncello, I stayed with a peach iced tea. Normally, Ayla doesn't drink alcohol on shopping trips, today it's probably different.
„Is everything okay with you or why are you drinking a limoncello?" I asked her as she looked at the sea unimpressed.
„Lemon drinks well in such a heat. The small amount of alcohol doesn't matter that much either..." she replied with a smile and reached for the card that was on the table and leafed through it lost in thought. „I'm just asking." I rolled the topic in and took the ice-cold glass, which the waiter now pressed into my hand.
„All right. So what do you want to do when you're in Canada?" The blonde sat up and watched me grinning. I sighed. So far, I had been thinking more about staying on the racetrack. Not about something else. "Uh, I don't know. I mean it's only two days we're going to be there. Do you already have any ideas about the weekend?" I asked back and sipped my iced tea filled with ice cubes.
„I'm going to visit Typhoon briefly on Saturday. I want to make sure he's doing well," she told me, pushing the ring on her finger up and down. She sighed. "Well. But now you tell me? Is something planned with Charles? Did he tell you anything?"
„No, and since I know Formula 1 absolutely 0.0%, it will be very funny," I replied sarcastically and poked around with my straw in the drink in front of me. Somehow I tried to dip the ice cubes under water, but it was pointless, because they jumped up every time. Isn't it funny how you sometimes try things over and over again, even though you actually know that it will come down to the same result again?
„I don't even know what the rules are or what Charles means by certain terms," I forces me to smile. I absolutely didn't like this ignorant feeling in my stomach. I like to prepare for events like this and prefer to have a full overview of everything. So I can assess dangers and scenarios and, if necessary, weigh up whether it would be smart to go through this matter or not.
But this time all this is not the case. Actually, I would also cancel, but something is holding me back...
