I turned around and looked at him caught. Had he visited me on purpose and possibly broke his agreement by forgetting the address? It was clear that he would abuse your trust. It's your own fault if you fall for such a guy. My inner voice was right. I shouldn't have been so stupid...

„Didn't you want to forget my address??" I crossed my arms in front of my chest and looked at him waiting.

„Who said I was here because of you? But yes, you're right and I keep my word too. I'm here because of my mom. She lives right next to you." he pointed to house number 18. I was immediately ashamed that I really thought he had been here because of me. Don't always make yourself so important! My inner voice admonished me at the same time.

„Oh...I'm sorry I didn't know..." I stuttered embarrassed but didn't really get a straight sentence out.

„All good. You don't have to apologize for that. How are you?" I sighed. How unnecessary this question was.

„Good. And...you?" I asked back uncertainly. My counterpart looked at me crookedly, as if he knew exactly that I had just lied to him, but he said nothing more about it.

„Also good." I nodded. To devote myself to my bag again, I turned away from him. I slammed the trunk and then made sure it was really locked. "And you? Do you want to leave now?" The brown-haired man asked and nodded to my car.

„I'm always with my parents over the weekend, they live here. I live a few minutes away." I said what the young man accepted with a nod.

„Before you go..." he held me by the arm just as I wanted to go to escape to the driver's door. I stopped. First looked at his hand holding my sleeve and then into his green eyes. I couldn't do anything about it, I was already lost in them. "What's your name?" I shook myself briefly and took a step backwards. I had long since interrupted the eye contact. "Célina," I murmured. "I am Charles," he returned with a smile. I nodded as a sign of my understanding.
Then it was time to go. I stammered a hoarse "Ciao" and then got into my car only to drive away as fast as I could. I steered my car through the streets of Monaco. The sun was high in the sky. At a flea market on the promenade, simple things were sold, families strolled past small shops and a group of Chinese typically took many photos of everything, as if they had never seen it before. All of them seemed happy, but you can even tell from the outside whether a person is happy or unhappy? People can smile while their heart bleeds and their soul dies. That's the way it is, isn't it?

I turned away from the outside world and finally drove home. I threw my bag carelessly into the hallway, I could unpack it later.
