Ayla had insisted on letting me go to Charles alone. She wanted to look around for a coffee for so long. That's why I stood alone and tensed in the lounge of the Ferrari motorhome. I knotted my fingers into each other and listened to my heart, which beat very quickly. Then I heard a door upstairs that opened and fell back into the lock seconds later. This was followed by laughter and voices approaching. My gaze flew to the stairs, where I discovered two familiar faces. I got moving and couldn't help smiling. I ignored Sam and listened to my heart. I wrapped my arms around Charles and immediately inhaled his scent deep into my lungs. I wasn't interested in him smelling a little like sweat, I just wanted him with me.

„You did so well!", I murmured against his shoulder while I felt how he pressed me tighter to himself. That made me feeling absolutely indescribable.

A snoot let us drive apart. It was Sam who skeptically assessed us. „Are you guys actually together?", he asked and pulled his forehead grinning into wrinkles. Charles and me? Together?

„Hey Sam, you might go looking for Ayla. We'll meet at my car then." , Charles waved demonstratively to his manager and made it clear to him that he should leave. Sam nodded and I think I recognized a wink in his eyes. Then he turned on the heel and disappeared outside. Charles turned to me again. He smiled and for a moment we just looked into each other's eyes. His green soul gates captivated me, I threatened to get lost in it. No, I've been lost in them a long time ago. Already at our first meeting on the bridge, even if I didn't want to admit it and would have preferred to keep him at a distance. I've turned off my head and got involved. In Charles, my feelings for him, in this life. I've forgot what my plan was and gave myself to him. I opened myself for him and spent time with him. Whether it was such a good idea? I don't know that but I don't care about it from now on.

With mixed feelings I got out of the plane in the evening. The summer evening air flooded my lungs. After I picked up my suitcase and ordered a taxi, I leaned against the ice-cold glass wall of the building next to the parking lot. I was tired. I couldn't really imagine to wake up for work at 8 a.m. tomorrow. For a fraction of a second, I played with the idea of calling in sick, but immediately rejected that thought again. It's not for nothing that I have left Canada already today.
Ayla still stayed there. She wanted to see the caribou in the home again and stay with a friend for the night. Tomorrow at noon she would then fly to Monaco and pick me up later from my shift at the restaurant.

A bright headlight woke me up from my thoughts and I pushed myself off the glass wall, grabbed my suitcase and rushed to the taxi that just arrived. I threw the suitcase into the trunk and took my hand luggage to the back seat. I gave the driver my address and then leaned against the seat. From there in it were approximately 30 minutes to my home.

The city illuminated with light passed me and I was about to fall asleep.
