Back on the balcony I was thankfully in company with Ayla who came at last. As a couple, we looked at Q2 and Q3. Charles even made it to Q3 and had increased so much that he kicked Sebastian Vettel from 3rd place and will now start from the second row tomorrow. Overjoyed, I walked down Ayla ahead and waited in his garage until he came back from the interviews. He beamed over both ears and suddenly fell around my neck. Perplexed, I returned the short hug and patted him on the back. "You were great. P3!" I noted triumphantly.
Charles let go of me and nodded. "Yes, the car was really great today," he raved and put his helmet in the hands of Sam, who just came into the garage. This man patted his buddy on the shoulder and exchanged a few words with him.

While Charles threw himself in day clothes in his room, Ayla and I were waiting for him in front of the Ferrari building. First, Sam came out and behind him Charles. His dark blue jeans matched his white collar sweater and his hair looked wet, as if he had taken a quick bath.
„Ready for the Take Off?", he asked in the round when he arrived and shook his key. Did he plan to take us with his ferrari? God in the sky, can please someone pinch me that I wake up at last?
„Uh yeah! 100%!", Ayla squeaked and raised her hand reporting.
I was still stunned by the fact that Charles actually held the car key for a fabulously expensive Ferrari in his hand, his mouth open. I've been in the car before, but back then I never thought it would happen a second time.
While Sam and Ayla were already moving, I still stayed standing rooted. However, Charles didn't leave and took a few steps towards me. His closeness made me nervous. I felt my heart beating violently in my chest while I was sure to turn red.
Charles grabbed my hand and smiled timidly at me. "Come on. Or do I drive so badly?"
I immediately shook my head, but I couldn't think of a single word that would be appropriate to say at that moment. And I felt so stupid because it was just a normal man standing in front of me?! Okay. It's not just a normal man. To be honest, it is the complete opposite of normal. He is very different from normal men, because such people do not trigger such feelings in me. But he did.
Charles dragged me more or less with him until I rediscovered my ability to walk independently. However, our hands remained entangled for some unknown reason until we arrived at the matt gray Ferrari, running along the middle with a white and a red stripe. Ayla threw me a relatively inconspicuous look, but which spoke more words than were in my brain.
While Ayla and I squeezed into the back seat, the two men took a seat in the driver's and passenger's seat.
„Where are we going now?" Ayla asked curiously when Charles started the engine and left the parking lot for people from the paddock behind him.
„We're going out to eat something. Unfortunately, there is not much time for anything else because I have to be back here in two hours for the driver briefing," explained the man and directed us to the access road towards the city center of Montreal. „Do you know any good restaurants in Montreal? We're not here so often." Charles looked at us through the inner rear-view mirror.
„No, I haven't been here in ages. But Ayla, you should know some?" I turned to my best friend, who already pinched her eyes, as if she could think better. Then she snapped her thumb and index finger and told us about her idea.
„There is one on the corner next to the fitness center. That's very good."
„Do you know what that's called?" Sam asked and took out his cell phone. „No, but I can navigate us," Ayla denied, whereupon Sam put his cell phone away again. „Fine."
The green meadows and wide steppes of the Canadian landscape passed by us. There were countless sheep on a fenced area. Among them I recognized a few lambs who jumped playfully over stones and tufts of grass. A herding dog lay under a tree that threw long shadows on the grass.
The closer we got to Montreal, the more civilized our surroundings became. Instead of pine trees on the side of the road, advertising posters and street shops now fenced into our surroundings. More and more cars came towards us and houses soon lined up tooth by tooth. As promised, Ayla navigated Charles through the metropolitan region. He parked in front of a small half-timbered house with colorful flowers on the windows and green shutters. We climbed out of the car and waited until Sam had pulled up the heavy wooden door. Gentlemanlike, he kept her open until Ayla also stepped behind me.
A spicy smell came into my nose and the warmth of the house enveloped me like a cocoon. The tables were all round and made of old oak wood. A wind tablecloth was spread across the table and in addition to a vase with a variety of flowers, there was also salt and pepper on it. Waiters handling plates and glasses ran slalom around the chairs and brought the orders to the guests.
Charles went to a table in the corner of the restaurant and pulled a chair back. "Madame." he smiled warmly at me. A little perplexed, I first looked at him and then at the chair. When he nodded to me, I resumed my ability to act and sat down. "How generous of you." I smiled gratefully at the Monegasque, but he only winked enchanted and took a seat opposite me.
Ayla, who sat next to me, pushed her hard elbow into my ribs and grinned mischievously at me. I rolled my eyes and probably turned red. Hopefully nobody saw that in the yellowish light here.
