While Jere waits for our orders, I stand patiently, until I see Nicole.

"Y/N? Hey!" She yells.

"Hi, Nicole." I say as Jeremiah comes over and we walk over to her.

"Jere I was so sorry to hear about your mom, she was so lovely."

"Yeah, she was." He replies.

"Hey, I think our order's ready." I point behind us.

"Yeah." He heads to get it.

"How are he and Conrad doing?"

"They're hanging in there," I smile. "So, how are you, have you seen any of the debs yet?"

"Saw Marissa last week, but Gigi's dad got caught in this insider trading thing and they had to sell their house."

"Woah."

"I know right? Awful." She then rambles about the luxurious reasons the debutantes aren't here this summer. "I didn't even know you guys were coming this year."

"Yeah it just, came up."

"Well, we should hang, see you later."

"Bye."

Jere puts an arm on my shoulder and we start walking to the car.

As we sit inside and start driving, my head flashes between the present, and the past while a song begins playing.

Conrad, Jere, Conrad, Jere, an endless switch between the two.

'Do you get deja vu, huh?'

My mind goes one way, Jere and I sitting in a car of lingering thoughts, and the other, Conrad and I on a comfortable drive home with love filling the air.

After a good ten minutes, we enter the drive of the cousin's beach house. Susannah's house. Home.

"Should we go inside?"

"Don't think we came all this way just to sit in the car." I giggle.

We both step out and when we make it to the front of the car together I pull him in for a quick kiss.

"Come on." I grab his hand and run to the door.

"Wow." We head inside.

"It's so weird being here in the winter."

"I know." He smiles.

"I'll go see if there is something to eat."

"Good luck."

I rummage through a couple of cupboards before I find something.

"Conrad! Hot chocolate!" I yell with a grin.

"Amazing."

I fill up the mugs with some powder and water.

"Having a hard time starting this fire." He calls.

"Weren't you supposedly an Eagle Scout?"

"Shut up." He laughs.

I put the cups into the microwave for a minute, before getting them out and taking them to the living room.

"Here." I place them on the coffee table and we sit down.

We look at each other and smile.

He takes a quick sip.

"Wow, that tastes,"

"Amazing?"

"Really dusty."

"Liar, hot chocolate is my specialty, and you're welcome."
