Jere and I are on our way to see Aunt Julia, and we discuss game plans.

"I am guessing Conrad went the angry route so, we are doing my method."

"Charm her, hence the flowers."

He chuckles.

"Exactly."

"I wish he would've told us about this sooner."

"Yeah, could've helped." I chuckle.

"Get her good side, Laur!" Susannah yells through Facetime.

"On it."

"Get the corsages out." She demands.

I turn around to Conrad.

"Shit, I left it in my dorm fridge, I'm so sorry."

"It's okay, don't worry, just get me two next year to make up for it."

He smiles slightly and we turn to keep taking photos.

Suz orders a few more specific ones, and we start getting ready to leave.

"Are you okay?" I ask a very blank-faced Conrad.

"I am so sorry I forgot the corsage."

"It's fine, don't even worry about it, I don't care about a stupid flower."

He nods.

"If you don't wanna come then..."

"No, no, I wanna come."

"Okay." I smile and grab his hand as we leave for the car.

A while later, we are sat at the table in silence, until Steven comes over asking his date to dance.

As they walk away, he speaks to us.

"You gonna ask y/n to dance Fisher? I came to this prom to take videos for Susannah."

He clears his throat and holds my hand while we head to the dance floor.

I wrap my arms around his neck and we move slowly to the music.

He doesn't even look at me.

"I'm happy you're here," I tell him.

"Me too."

He keeps his eyes away from mine.

"Wanna go somewhere?"

"Well, the after-party doesn't start till' 12."

"No like just me and you?"

"I wanna stay here and dance for a little bit longer."

I know what is happening.

I don't want it to happen.

"I might go back to school tonight, I've got a test on Monday."

"Oh."

"Is it alright if I don't go to the party and just drop you off?"

"I thought you were um, I thought you were staying the night?"

"Y/N if I stay I'm gonna ruin the rest of the night."

"No, you won't, if you don't wanna go to the party then that's fine, we won't go."

He looks at the ceiling, then his feet, then the wall. Anywhere but me.

"Did I do something?"

"Can we please just go outside and talk?" He pulls away.
