POV: Marissa
Mr. Summers finally came out of the room and I looked at him warily. Jenna shook her head at me. I glanced at her and motioned her for go into the room first. She shrugged her shoulders and just waltzed right in. Before I went into the room Mr. Summers stopped me. I jumped when he put his hand on my shoulder.
“Can I have a word with you Marissa?” Mr. Summers smiled warmly at me and a thought of what I thought before. I shook my head internally at how stupid I could be. Of course these people weren’t vampires, they were too nice!
“Yes Mr. Summers?” I smiled at him. Okay, it was just a little in the freak-out mode. I’ll be fine.
“Today has been a very stressful day,” Mr. Summers dug into his pocket. Oh no. Was he getting one of those memory eraser things like they have in ‘Men in Black’? One of those would be pretty neat to have. Just blast anyone’s memory that might have seen you doing something you shouldn’t. Mr. Summers chuckled then pulled out his wallet. Oh. “Why don’t you and the kids go out for ice cream, maybe go to the mall? My treat.” He held out a $50 bill in front of me.
“Well Mr. Summers you really don’t have to do this,” I pushed his hand away.
“I insist. And when you get back, bring your parents over. I would enjoy meeting them,” Mr. Summers took my hand and shoved the dollar bill into it.
I bit my lip, “But Mr.—”
“C all me Trenton,” He cut me off, “Now shoo! Off with all of you! Go have fun.” Then we were shoved out the door. I looked at everyone around me then at the $50 bill again.
“So where do you guys want to go?” I smiled crookedly.

POV: Drake
We left the room and my father called Marissa back. I wonder what he was telling her. I led everyone back into the living room and let them sit on the couch that was brought over before we moved. Hunter sat beside me giving me a wiry grin. I wonder what that was about. His eyes strayed from me to Jenna then back again. I got the silent question, “If I get a mate can I still go for it?”
I smirked at him. I knew that they were mates from how possessive he was of her. I guess he couldn’t figure it out. Just nodded to him. This would be good. Jenna came to stand in front of us. She cocked her hip and crossed her arms over her chest. The most common angry girl pose.
“Something is fishy here and I want to know what it is,” She looked pointedly at both of us. Hunter seemed to get nervous because he tensed next to me. I saw him take a glance my way from the corner of my eye. I guess it wouldn’t hurt to tell her, but it could be fatal to the chance of me getting closer to my mate.
