POV: Marissa
I walked with Destiny to the bathroom, but I didn’t miss the shocked look on Drake’s face. Destiny pushed open the door and pulled me over to the sinks. She looked at me pleadingly. I don’t think she is going to talk to me again. I picked her up and set her on the counter and proceeded to wash her face off. She smiled brightly at me then a sad look took over her face. She started running.
“Destiny! Wait up!” I yelled this as her but she kept running. I jumped up to look over the crowd, because I’m short, but I couldn’t see her. I kept running towards our table. I blew a huge sigh of relief when I saw Destiny was securely wrapped up in Drake’s arms.
“I am so sorry. She just ran away from me and—”
“There is nothing to worry about Marissa. She does this all the time. She’s an extremely shy person and I’m the only one that can get her to talk. We hoped it would have eased down by now,” Drake was rubbing Destiny’s hair out of her face in a loving gesture.
“Okay. I’m still really sorry,” My loving nature demanded I apologize. This scene would forever be ingrained in my head. He really was a loving brother.
“So Marissa, what are some things that we can do around here for fun?” Chase gave me an evil smile.
“Oh Chase I like where you’re going with this,” Jenna smiled evilly back at her.
“Don’t listen to her. She likes to steal cars and break into junkyards for fun,” Hunter smirked at all of us.
“Why don’t we just stick to the mall for now. I have been dying to go there since that new store opened up,” My voice cheerfully pierced through everyone else’s voices. Jenna groaned, but agreed.
“Sounds like a plan. We can go there then to the food court. We still have thirty dollars,” Drake smirked at all of us then his eyes landed on me. They almost looked…hungry. He looked away quickly like he was a little boy caught with his hand in the cookie jar. I saw him lick his lips.
We all picked up our stuff after we finished our ice cream then walked to the mall. We were all getting along well as we joked and laughed the whole way to the mall.
. . .
POV: Drake
I wanted to scream! Or cry. Crying would be nice right now.
I was starving and my stomach would rumble every five seconds. Destiny was starting to get worried. I could tell by the look in her eyes. She would look at me worried and I would put on a smile just to get her to calm down. My little princess worried too much for her own good. I looked over at Marissa again. Yeah, I was still hungry.
“Marissa you just have to try this on! It would compliment your skin tone and hair beautifully!” Jenna came running towards Marissa with a dress in her hands. When she unfolded it I almost had a heart attack. It was a knee-length, blood red dress that would hug her body perfectly. I could just imagine how it looked on her. I could almost imagine how it would look on her after I bit her neck. The blood would run down, but wouldn’t stain the dress because they were the same color. I shuddered. I couldn’t think like that on an empty stomach.
“No, Jenna. I don’t think I should. Red looks terrible on me,” Marissa looked down at the ground almost shamefully. My eyebrows scrunched together.
“Are you seeing the same thing I’m seeing? Blonde hair, green eyes, and pale skin. I think it would look killer in a red dress! Please try it on Marissa!” Chase exclaimed this loudly. I thought of her in the dress again. Yes, this dress would be the death of me.
