POV: Drake
“Drakie.” Destiny’s face filled my vision slowly, “Mar is here and H-Hunty took food.”
“Okay babygirl. I’m up, it’s okay,” I sniffed and got up to stretch. Okay, food. Blood. Yeah, time for blood.
I heard giggling out in the hallway. “Okay so I’m just going to go in there and pour water on his head then run out,” More giggling. “He’s going to be so mad but if it’s you doing it, then you won’t get in trouble.”
That sounded like my sister and Marissa. Destiny ran out of the room, and Marissa came barging in. She saw me and her smile fell and the cup fell from her hands. Her eyes dropped to my waist and I looked down with her, seeing that my boxers slipped down until it was dangerously close to showing what just happened to be in between my legs. I looked back up at her and smirked.
“Do you want a closer look?” I chuckled as I looked up at the blush rising on her face. I smirked and held in my laughter, walking around her.
I walked into the kitchen and grabbed a plate while everyone just stared at me.
“Surprised I’m not soaked?” I asked while looking at the eggs and pancakes laid out for us. I turned around, “Destiny woke me u when she came in.” I took a bite out of my first pancake. I laughed at Chase’s face the most. Her jaw had dropped quite a bit.
“My parents are coming over for lunch today. My dad had to go into work for a couple hours this morning. You have to deal with us all day,” Hunter smirked at me and opened his mouth only to chomp down on air a couple times. Yes, he is immature. Marissa came around the corner at that time. Just two seconds before and—
“Drake I want you to tell me the truth,” Marissa looked at me with scared eyes. Well, shit.
“Marissa I—” Jenna started, but Marissa cut her off. The room was tense.
“No, Jenna. I asked Drake. You wouldn’t tell me anything and you said that Drake would. Now Drake, I want the truth,” Marissa looked at me with a crazy look in her eyes.
“Marissa, come with me,” I grabbed her hand gently and pulled her with me into the living room where my parents were sitting. “What time are your parents coming over?”
“Noon.” Marissa was still looking at me warily and did the same to my parents.
“Right, lunch,” I looked up at her and she was looking at my mom. “She’s fully human just like you.” Marissa jumped and quickly moved to the couch, putting the coffee table in between us.
“I want to know the truth Drake. If your mom is human, then what are you?” Marissa was shaking at this point.
“I’m pretty sure you know Marissa,” My face was blank but on the inside I was breaking. If she rejected it—
“No, I don’t,” Marissa laughed without any humor, “Because if I believed something like that I would have to be crazy right? I would have to be completely insane and taken to an asylum right? It’s not possible Drake. You can’t believe it either because it’s not real. They’re not real.”
“But they are. Everything you think isn’t real, is.”
With that sentence it looked as if her whole life shattered, and tears started streaming down her face.

POV: Marissa
I knew it should have been too good to be true. I knew that Drake couldn’t have been more than a liar. But it hurt thinking that he actually believed this. He was insane.
Why are the hot ones insane?
I sat down on the couch, still shaking my head. “It can’t be real,” I whispered to myself. I sat there and wondered what I was doing. Why would this upset me this much when I had just met Drake yesterday?
Holy shit. I just met Drake yesterday.
“I know you must think we are crazy sweetie, believe me I thought so too, but they are telling the truth. Drake, his father Trenton, and his sister Chase are all vam—” His mother started.
“No, don’t say it,” I interrupted her, “If you say it that means this is real, but if no one says anything, then none of this ever happened.”
I heard Drake hit something, “It can’t be like that Marissa.” I jumped at his tone. “I wish I could forget all of this and pretend it never happened but it isn’t like that for me. Do you know why? Because I wake up every day with the craving for blood that I can’t control, and when I’m around you, it becomes twice as bad. Maybe even worse than that!”
“You actually drink it?” I screeched. I knew I was overreacting. Okay, maybe I wasn’t. I just found out a guy I liked thought he was a vampire. Ha ha. Yes, my life was going great how was yours?
“I can’t live without it Marissa,” Drake came towards me and I didn’t think, I just screamed. Hunter came running into the room.
“What happened?” He looked around frantically.
“I told her and she kind of freaked out,” Drake looked angry, and if he was what he thought he was then that was a bad thing.
“Hunter, I’m going home. I am going to tell Mom and Dad I don’t feel well. Feel free to stay with the family that needs to be put into an insane asylum.” I stormed out the door but I didn’t miss the look of sadness that crossed Drake’s face, or the look of empathy that crossed his mother’s.
