Chapter 8

POV: Drake

I was going to kill her.  Who says I had a boner right now?

Well obviously the erection in your lap says so.

Of course she looked beautiful in it.  I just couldn’t deal with the hunger.  When I ran home I took maybe three bags of blood.  That was usually enough to keep me for a week.  I had the same thing yesterday.

Well, Marissa was obviously down for the count.  She was staring, open-mouthed, at Jenna with her face a bright red.

“Maybe you should get your mind out of the gutter Jenna,” I gave her a pointed look.

“Oh, but my mind likes the gutter.  It’s a very soothing place,” She laughed loudly and everyone around the food court looked in our direction again.

“Oh, but Jenna,” My hands hit the table hard enough to get the whole room to stop any sort of movement.  “I’ve never been embarrassed by a boner before,” I stood up and it was still there sure enough, “so why start now?”

I walked away from the table then and I heard Destiny jump up from the table too.  Of course she would follow me.  She had no clue what was going on.  Oh what a priceless face Marissa had on when I stood up though.  My lap would have been at eye level for her, so she definitely got an eyeful.

“Wait!  Drake!” That was Marissa’s voice.  Well shit.

“Yeah Marissa?” I turned around and looked her in the eye.  Or at least I tried to.  Her eyes kept moving to the zipper of my pants.

“Is that, um, really for, um, me?” She was stammering and stumbling over her words.

“Marissa let me tell you this way,” Oh this was going to hurt to say.  “I know a pretty girl when I see one.  And sometimes erections just happen.  It’s,” I stopped for a second, “nothing personal.” I finally pushed the last couple words out.

“Okay, that really makes me feel better,” Marissa smiled at me.  Well that hurts.

“I’m sorry if I scared you Marissa, it wasn’t my intention.”

“You’re fine.  I understand now, it’s just a reaction.”

 Yeah, a reaction.  No, I just didn’t want to scare you.

So, I haven't been on for a while, but I am on now!  I'm hoping to finish Bloodrose this summer!  So the picture to the side is the guy I want to play Hunter Carson!  That, my dear friends, is Alex Pettyfer. So while I am saying I want to finish this book, I make no promises!  Thank you all who will continue reading and again, I'm sorry I haven't been more attentive.
