POV: Marissa

We had finally arrived at the campgrounds.  All the adults got out of the camper first until it was only Chase and I on the bus.

“Can I talk to you?  Without Drake finding out that is,” I touched her arm and smiled at her a little bit.  “Please?”

“Sure, what’s up?” Chase sat down across from me and smiled broadly.  “I mean, I know Drake told you because he was moping around the house for three days, then with your face I know you don’t believe him, not really.  Okay, so I didn’t get it from your face.  I kind of slipped into your mind and you were thinking how absolutely crazy everything is—”

“Wait, you can read my mind?” I touched my head as I looked at her, while also feeling a little bit scared.

“Every vampire can read minds, but only if they would try, unless that person is having very strong and passionate feelings.  If the feelings are strong enough, then the vampire can sense their thoughts,” Chase smiled at me, “In case you are wondering, no, Drake has never read your thoughts.  He really likes you,” she seemed to chuckle to herself at that, “and wants you to come to him with your thoughts and feelings.”

“Are you reading my mind right now or something?” I narrowed my eyes at her.

Chase laughed, “Of course I’m not.” She grabbed my hand, “Listen to me.  My brother likes you, a lot.  Which that will be explained with time, but until then just know that he won’t mistreat you, and he won’t try anything until you are absolutely sure.”

“Listen, you guys are awesome, but I’m not sure if I can believe all of this.  Sure, I’ve been obsessed with vampires my entire life, but actually believing they exist?” My eyes pleaded with her to understand.

“Who was it that just asked me the other day if vampires existed?” Hunter climbed on the bus.  “Plus, they exist.  Same with other creatures, like werewolves.”

“You never told your own sister?  She could have those genes too,” Chase shook her head at my brother.

“She would have shifted already.  But come on, Mom and Dad need help making tracks to the nearest bathroom,” Hunter looked at me pointedly.

                “Shifted?  Hunter you’re a—” I started.

“Yes I am.  Just think of it this way though.  Marissa this is our favorite dream that Dad never let us have,” Hunter tweaked my cheek then left the room.

                POV: Drake

“Here take this,” Jenna handed me something.  I looked down and it was the book that Marissa was reading.

                “Jenna, why?” I started.

“No questions, just write things that are true in the margins, but don’t freak her out.  I already have a few notes in it, and Hunter has also done it.  Nothing too bad and try not to write in the margins on the smutty parts unless you want to make her blush.”  With that, Jenna winked and was gone.  I stuck the book into my bag and threw my stuff into the tent I was sharing with Hunter.

The parents were going to sleep in the camper while the kids were stuck into boy and girl tents.  I quickly put up the girls’ tent then went to find the river that was supposed to be around here.  I found it then smiled, liking how it was completely clean.  I got back to the camp and nobody was there so I took the book back out.  Within the first few pages I decided to write my first note.

Marissa a vampire can only have one person they will ever drink from and be completely satisfied.

Yes, that would do for now.  I kept flipping through the book.  I tried to stay away from the interesting parts, but one of them caught my eye.  I read through it then smiled.

I can make this happen for you, baby.

I smiled at that, and then put the book up for now because I heard someone coming.

“Hey Marissa,” I smiled at her broadly.  She walked up close to me then looked up into my mouth.

“Where do they go?” She reached up her hand, but when she touched my teeth my fangs shot out and cut her finger.  She gasped and pulled her hand to her chest.

“Sorry, it’s a reaction to, well, you,” I winced and pulled my lips over my teeth.

“No.  Drake I’m sorry for how I reacted when you told me.  At first I was terrified and thought you might be insane.  Then I thought about it and thought that you may have told me that to impress me in some weird way because of the Team Edward shirt I was wearing.  Then Hunter told me something today that kind of smacked me in the face.  This is my dream, to meet a real vampire.  I have been dreaming of this day for years, since I started reading anyway,” Marissa looked down at the ground.

I lifted her face to look at me, “You don’t have to be sorry.  Most normal people would have reacted worse than you did.  I’m hoping since you reacted quite well to that you won’t react too bad to what is coming next.” I winked at her and then everyone else filled in the campsite.
