POV: Marissa
After everything was set up we made a campfire and sat around just telling stories.
“—and he wouldn’t come out of his room for weeks!” My mom had just finished telling the story of when Hunter had started noticing, um, hair.
Everyone was dissolved into laughter while he was blushing. Jenna was sitting beside him and grabbed his arm, laying her head on his shoulder. Hunter started to grin then placed a kiss on her head. I looked pointedly at her. Jenna smiled broadly then mouthed ‘later.’
“So does anyone have any embarrassing stories about Drake? Or maybe Chase?” Jenna grinned wickedly.
“Oh! I have one about Chase,” Drake grinned at her from beside me. I bit my lip at Chase and laughed then turned back to Drake to listen to him.
“Well we were living in France at the time, and she really liked this guy. The only problem was that she didn’t know French that well. We had only lived there for a couple months. Well she used some cheap website to translate what she wanted to say. It turned out she wanted to tell him she liked him, but ended up telling him his face smelled like a cow. He didn’t take too well to this and started to cuss her out, but she didn’t understand French so she stood there looking at him with an adoring look in her eyes for about ten minutes,” Everyone was back to laughing at this, even Chase.
“I’m still laughing about his face when you came up behind him then tapped his shoulder when you found out what he was saying to me,” Chase grabbed her stomach, “And that is why I will always love my big brother.”
“You’re exaggerating just a little bit. I mean I was merely talking to him—” Drake started.
“With your fist? Sure, talking that way is sure to work,” Chase smiled at him, “I never said I didn’t appreciate it Drake.”
“Well as much fun as this is, I think I want to take a walk. Does anyone want to come with me?” Jenna shot up in a flash and smiled at the whole group.
“I would love to take a walk,” Hunter was just as quick to get up and smiled down at Jenna. No one else said anything so they went off into the woods together. I don’t exactly think they were just going out for a stroll.
I saw Destiny walk over to Drake then tug on his sleeve until he picked her up. As soon as he did, she whispered something in his ear.
“Oh, no sweetheart I don’t think Marissa wants to hear about that,” At this point Drake was actually blushing and looking at the ground.
“What do I not want to hear?” I looked at them confused.
“Destiny, baby. Tell me what story you want told about Drake,” Chase was grinning wickedly at this point. Destiny just looked at the ground and played with her fingers. “Well if you won’t tell me then I’ll just come up with a story on my own. Oh, what to tell. I know, I can tell her about that one girlfriend you had in Texas. What was her name again? Cora? Cassie?”
“Cindy,” Drake grumbled. I looked at him and when I saw his face, I couldn’t help it; I had to tease him about her.
“Cindy, huh? The love of your life, the woman who would one day bear your children. Were you two torn away because your father had to move for business?”
“Not at all,” Drake turned and looked at me dead on, “I hated her while we dated and when I broke up with her she stalked me. We moved to get me away from her.”
“There is one thing I have been dying to ask. Why do you guys move all the time?” I looked from Chase to Drake and back again. They looked at each other.
“You want to tell her?” Chase grinned at Drake.
“Go away and I will,” Drake smiled at her then put Destiny’s hand in Chase’s and sent them off on another trail.
“Aren’t you scared for them?” Marissa looked up at me with wild eyes.
“Baby, Chase, Hunter, my dad, and I are the scariest things in this woods. Nothing would dare come near us,” Drake smiled at me wickedly, “But I wouldn’t object to having you come closer.”
“What is it you need to tell me?” I changed the subject, not liking where he was taking that one.
“Come sit with me by the fire,” He put his arm around me and we both sat down. I looked into the fire for a long time before looking up at Drake. His face was shadowed in a way that just brought out how attractive he was. Without thinking I brought my hand up and cupped his face. His hand went up and touched mine.
“Thank you, but this wasn’t why I wanted you to come over here,” Drake smiled then set my hand back on my lap.
“Why did you want me over here then?” I looked up into his eyes and what I saw there shocked me. His eyes were full of desire and adoration. I fell in love with that look.
“Well you see Marissa, a vampire has a sort of mate where they are the only person they can drink from and be completely satisfied..."

Sorry for the cliffhanger (not really), but I am truly sorry for not updating for a while. I was watching a TV series called The Nanny. It aired in the 90s. If you know what it is, please be my friend. But I finally finished it, and I LOVE IT! But if you have ever watched it, i will give you insight into me. FRAN IS ME. I AM FRAN. WE ARE ONE. Sorry it's just things she says or does are just...me. But anyway! I hope you like this chapter!! I love that we are finally getting to the good parts!
So, is anyone curious or want to take a guess as to why Destiny has this problem talking to people? But okay, so I'm dedicating this chapter to @InNeedOfEducation because they are the only one who commented on last chapter when I asked everyone to! But, just so you guys know, I am going to be getting a little more sexual as time goes on and if there is anything in that chapter I will post it at the begginning of the story. But anyway, I love everyone who has read so far and will be reading more!!
