Through the bushes, the scent lingered, growing stronger. As the branches rustled, giving away the location of whoever was making their way over, Lenora had gotten ready to pounce, placing herself between Kyler and the unknown smell. It was close enough now that Lenora knew it wasn't the blue Wolf, she couldn't place it as any Wolf she had smelt before.
Kyler watched with wide eyes, expecting Pax and his big softness to make everything better, what he saw instead both confused and relieved him. ''Willow?''
As her form changed, revealing a familiar face, Willow continued her steps toward the trees, feeling the lingering rage that Pax had taken out on her. "You need to be at the cottage, Pax is losing his mind and I can't deal with this right now." Her words were still and bitter, like thorns in Kyler's skin.
Knowing she was trying to help, lessened the sting, she cared for Pax, that was evident. Kyler's head dropped, not knowing what to do, feeling there was nothing he could do.
"Hey, i hate to break up this lovely reunion... but we need to go." Lenora's patience had worn through, sarcasm biting from her tongue, Shade and Pan were approaching and this time she wasn't sure why.
With that they all turned on their heels and went, Willow in her Wolf form, Lenora grabbing Kyler's hand to run and keep pace. It wasn't long before they saw where the Vamps had laid camp, they were at the tree's edge, blocking any hope they had of getting to the cottage; back to Pax.
In his panic, Kyler spoke aloud, "What are we going to do?!" Lenora clasped her hand to his mouth as Willow shushed him, everyone's eyes remained in place. A howl sounded from the back of the cottage, too far away to be Pax, just close enough to be heard. If it hadn't been for that to distract the Vampires, Kyler could only imagine his fate.
Lenora pulled Kyler's arm back, away from the sound. "We gotta go." Willow turned, following her lead, unsure of where they were supposed to go, running could only get them so far and the sun wouldn't stay up forever. "We have to find cover." Lenora was scouting for any kind of shade, but the tree branches were too sparse and the moonlight would peak through.
"I know where we can hide," Kyler took the lead, knowing there was only one place in these woods they would be safe, as long as he could actually find it this time. Luckily for him the cozy smell of his old flame burned in that house hidden under the tree and surrounding roots, calling out to be found.
It took twenty minutes at their speed, with Willow keeping pace while scouting as they went, before the doorway came into view, it was the most beautiful thing Kyler could imagine at this very moment.
He stopped dead in his tracks at the thought, "oh no... I'm thinking about it, that means they can find it right?!" Lenora started shushing him, then continued to pull him inside.
"Don't think about it." She said as if this was the easiest endeavour, even Willow made an exasperated sound.
"Yeah right, 'oh just don't think about!' That totally solves the problem!" She couldn't hold back the sarcasm and the dire sound in her tone, this was a hiding place and either of them could give away their location in a second. How Lenora wasn't freaking out was unknown to all of them.
