POV y/n
I woke up to some chuckling in my doorway. I rub my eyes and look over at the floating clothes around me. I look hazily into the hallway to see Horace, Claire, Bronwyn, and Victor.

"*snort* it's dinner time," Victor tried his not to burst out laughing. Horace just raised his eyebrow and smirked. Claire and Bronwyn had ran off somewhere at this point. I nudged Millard,"Mill, wake up."

"But mommmm, I didn't even finish my pieeee."

The three of us who were wide awake at this point were laughing so hard I knocked Millard off my bed. As soon as he hit the floor he woke up immediately. Victor was bent over with laughter at this point. Millard tried to stand up but bonked his on my nightstand first. He got up comically and threw his hat on. "It's not very nice to laugh at the injured! Look at y/n!"

Victor was rolling in the hallway and Horace stopped laughing,"wait, what happened?" He turned behind him,"Victor! Stop laughing she cut her leg!" Victor ran into my room in 0.2 seconds,"Oh yeah that's why she sent us up here! Dinner is getting cold. Let me carry you."

I had completely forgotten about my stitches. I tried to get up but Millard told me I could rip my stitches. Victor picked me up ever so gently and brought me into the dining room. Everyone was aware of my injury at this point but they still felt sorry for me. As I was seated in my chair I stared as all the sad eyes. Enoch was the only one who didn't much care. "You guys don't have to be sorry for me. It was my fault."

"Y/n, what even happened?" I guess the bird didn't know the whole story. I was about to speak up when Enoch interrupted,"she flew through my window. Cut her leg on the glass. It's her fault really. Stop looking at her like sad puppies," then he comically whispered,"I like sad puppies,"just out of ear shot of everyone other than me since I was seated at the end of the table. I snickered slightly and the bird continued to scold me and question what I was trying to do.

"I was flying using my powers."

"How is that possible?"

"I...don't know. I've only done it twice. And the first time I..."

"What did you do, Miss Y/n?" The bird cocked her head slightly.

"Nothing. Nothing happened." I can't tell them. I won't tell them. I can't trust them.

After dinner was finish Claire begged Ms. Peregrine for movie time. She rolled her eyes and agreed. Victor carried me to one of the couches in the parlor. Millard handed me a warm cup of hot chocolate and stood in front of me awkwardly.

"What's wrong?"

"I have nowhere to sit and your leg can't move."

I quickly come up with a solution. I lift up my leg and gesture under it with a shrug and a questionable smile. He shrugged and sat under my elevated leg.

Horace sat in his chair in the middle of the room. He put a monocle up to one of his eyes and started displaying his dreams onto the screen the was pulled down from the ceiling. The first dream was of him trying on different clothes. Then it switched to me shooting into the sky and into Enoch's window. All heads turned to me and I laughed awkwardly. The children looked back as it switched again. It was Millard.

He was sitting alone on a cliff close to the beach. I was a few step behind him. I reach out my hand to him. He stood up and yelled at me. I yelled back. It went on like this for about fifteen seconds until he grabbed me. He grabbed my face and leaned in. The entire room was on the edge of their seats. Ms. Peregrine knew what was going on and quickly shut it down. She turned on the lights,"that's enough children, off to bed."

There was a wave of aw's and no fair's before they all raced up the stairs. The bird walked outside and left Millard and I alone in the parlor, my leg still draped over both of his.

There was no sign of Victor anywhere so Millard would have to carry me. I was not letting that happen again. I started to try to shift myself so I could stand up. I have a high pain tolerance from...experience. I swung my leg over onto the floor and winced a bit. Millard got up immediately,"y/n what are you doing?"

"What do you think I'm doing? I'm going to bed."

"You're gonna hurt yourself. You could ruin-"

"Yeah I know. It's fine."

"It's not fine-"

"Yes it will. I'm f-"

Millard stood in front of me and put his hands on his hips,"y/n, I don't care what you say. I am going to carry you bridal style all the way to your room whether you like it or not because I don't want to see you get hurt again. Period. End of story."

"Why bridal style specifically-"

"Stop asking questions!"

Before I knew it I was carried all the way to my room by Mr. Invisi-boy himself. He almost dropped me a few times but finally he reached my door. He set me down gently on my bed and tucked me in before walking out,"goodnight, y/n."

Just before he closed the door I stopped him,"Millard wait!"

He turned around just a bit,"yes my lo- I mean y/n?"

Wait, what did he almost say? Never mind. "Can you hand me my book?"

He walks over to my desk and picks up the book sitting there,"Fairy tales? Really?"

I gave him an ashamed look but he quickly took back what he said by suggesting,"how about I read you one?"

He sits on my bed which magically has more room than it previously did,"Oh and I got you a bigger bed for your injury."

I thanked him and flipped open the book to the sleeping beauty. He questioned me about it first but gladly read it to me.

Millard pov
"...the end." I look over to the sleeping girl next to me. My sleeping beauty. I close the lamp on her nightstand and set the book down next to it. "You're so beautiful, y/n," I whispered into her ear. If only I could tell her when she wasn't asleep. If I could tell her how much I loved her.
