Y/n pov
Im scared. Im beyond scared. I'm terrified. I struggled as he dragged me down the musty basement stairs. The basement smelled awful and jars filled with organs lined the walls. There was a single light in the room and in the center was a table. Flash backs of my father filled my mind as he let go of my hand and I crawled into a corner and cried in silence.

"Why are you crying? It's not going to hurt."

I didn't move.
"Stop crying. What's wrong?"

I didn't budge. He walked over to me from his work bench,"I told you I'm not going to hurt you."

My lip trembled and he got down on one knee and leant towards me,"I can tell you've been through something. My parents never loved me either but I got over it."

I finally said something,"abuse. My father."

"Neglect. Both. Mostly my father." He got up and walked over to his desk and threw a rag at me,"wipe your tears. Never talk about this. Get out I'm busy."

I wipe my tears and stand up as he sits down at his bench,"I thought you were gonna experiment. And what's your peculiarity anyway."

He rolls his eyes and grabs two dolls and two jars of mouse hearts. He places each one in carefully and whispers something under his breath. Both dolls come alive and stand up. I gasp in fascination.

"This isn't even the fun part. Do you want to see the fun part?"

I nod my head as both dolls pick up 2 razor blades and start cutting each other with them. Soon one of them gets stabbed in the heart and both dolls fall over.

He smiles slightly and explains,"The battles were better at my parent's funeral home."

I cross my arms as the musty basement seems to have become colder.

Enoch notices,"if you're cold get out."

"That's the plan,"I say sarcastically. I turn to leave and mutter,"you would know that if you weren't such a dipshit and got some sun."

"Hey," he yelled,"I heard that!"

I could tell that made him furious. I giggled as he picked me up and threw me out the door of the basement and slammed it behind him. After I got up from the tile I landed on. I turned the corner into the kitchen to find Horace standing in front of me.

"Y/n! I heard you were looking for me."

"Yes! It's about your dream."

As soon as I said dream he grabbed my arm and brought me up the stairs and into his room. He sat me down on his bed and he sat in a velvet chair in front of me.

"Continue," was all he said.

"It came true."

Horace squealed like a little girl who got a pony for her birthday,"AAAAAAAH! I knew it!"
"Wait. You knew that Millard liked me?"
"Honey, it was obvious since the second you walked in the door. I just flirted with you to make sure he was really set on you."

I already knew he was. From the first time I saw him. Saw through him. I just knew.

"What about you, y/n?"

"I don't know," I look out his window,"it was mostly fascination. And then I talked to him. And it was something I never had."

"What didn't you have?"

I looked him in the eyes,"someone who loved me for who I was."

Horace got up from his chair and hugged me,"you know I love you right? Because I do."

He sits next to me on his bed and puts an arm around me. I sigh and say,"Millard and I are dating. We're gonna keep it a secret but I think I should tell you."

He throws his head back and laughs," darling, I've known this whole time!"

"How do you know everything before it happens?"

He gave me a look,"it's my peculiarlity."

I smack my forehead,"Victor brain!"

Horace chuckles and Victor runs into the room,"did someone say my name?"

Horace and I burst out laughing.
