Three hours before Tohsaka's speech, I had sensed a trace of magic inside the temple. I brought a briefcase with me and began to snoop around the temple, looking for traces of mana or any magic.
I combed through multiple rooms to make sure that the presence was not there. Outside of the library, she felt the presence at its strongest. Being cautious, she prepared herself with Gandr. Her arm started to glow with her magic circuits showing a bright green.
"Show yourself," a voice demanded from a seat. I pointed my arm at the magic source. It was a man. I was unsure if this was a servant of not.
"Are you a servant?" The man stood from his seat. He strode to her with a cane in his hand.
"I'm Tohsaka Renik," he bowed to me.
Tohsaka Renik was a lean man. He appeared to be in his early twenties. His hair was that of a dark black. The demeanor he had was that of the upper class. He wore a red suit and a black fedora. He had a gold pocket watch chained to him.
I smiled, lowered my arm, and deactivated Gandr. I curtsied in response to Tohsaka and gave him a small wink.
"Pleasure to meet you, Renik. I am Inkeri Edelfelt." I put down a briefcase that I was carrying onto the table. "Now shall we talk business?"
"Over a glass of Sake?" He brought out just that.
"Why, you know me so well." I smiled at the gesture.
After we had a couple of drinks together, mainly me. We were ready to discuss the terms of the deal.
"Did you get what I asked for?"
"You know making me do all that work by myself is rude."
"I can't leave Fuyuki, not with Einzbern in the mix."
"What has got you so troubled with Einzbern?"
"The Einzberns have control of the grail. But now they have more influence over my contacts than me. I can't even get gems for my collection anymore." Renik was distraught. He wanted those gems more than anything in the world.
"The only person you could trust was a neutral master?" I said. He nodded with sorrow.
I sighed and opened the briefcase. It revealed a swath of gems and the point of a spear. Renik looked like he had just gotten a gift he wanted. His smile was one of pure awe and joy. He went to examine one of the gems. He performed a
" Up, up, up, no touching the merchandise. You get one test drive"
Tohsaka anxious to use the new gems, tested it on a book. Specifically a book on how to make mapu tofu. The gem was a ruby. He infused the ruby with mana and it glowed a bright red. He threw the book and gem into the air. They both collided and caused an explosion. Tohsaka eyes the case and looks at Inkeri with a stoic face.
"What is it you want in return?"
"What every mage wants... a way to secure their bloodline's survival."
Immediately, Tohsaka a bit confused said, "So my Od?" I slammed the table in anger and embarrassment. "Not that you idiot. What I meant was do not attempt to kill me or my sister."
"That sounds simple enough,"
"Then we have a deal, you have your servant and gems and I have protection. A win-win don't you agree?"
"Yes, it is,"
"By the way, there is prime intel," I walked up to Renik and grabbed a gem. "For a price that is."
