Chapter 11 (Killua Rescue Mission Arc)

"What the- Hana!? Hanaku, wake up." Leorio said. I groaned as I woke up to the sound of Leorio's voice. I gasped as I realized what had happened. "Killua you bastard." I spoke under my breath. "Hanaku, what happened?" Gon asked seriously.

"I went after Killua and tried to leave with him, but I think he knocked me out and sat me here on this tree." I explained. "Killua did that?" Gon asked, shocked. "Well, you can come with us. We're going to find Killua." Kurapika said.

"Really. Alright, I'll go with you and give Kil a piece of my mind! So do you know where Killua is? I didn't get a chance to ask where he was going." I asked. "Yeah, Illumi told us, he was going home." Leorio said.

"Where's that?" I asked. "It's on Kukuroo Mountain." Kurapika said.  "I've never heard of it." I said. "Neither have we, but we looked it up, and it's a three day trip. We gotta leave now if we're gonna make our flight." Leorio said.

"Then what are we waiting on? Let's go!" I said.

We were in a taxi, but it was rush hour so we were stuck in traffic. "What's going on, we've been in this taxi for what feels like forever." Leorio said. "Yeah, at this rate, we'll be late for our flight." Kurapika said. "Hey! Can't you do something!?" "I can't do anything about traffic. And this is the only road." The taxi driver said.

"Leorio, can you shut up. It's bad enough we're cramped in this hot taxi, we don't need your hot breath too!" I insulted Leorio. "Say what!?" Leorio said. "In that case!" Gon shouted. Gon came up with the idea that we should run on the side of the road. "YAY!" Gon shouted.

"Hey, Gon, you do you realize how far away the airport is right?" Leorio asked. "Yup, but I wanna go save Killua, and I didn't want to wait anymore!" Gon said. "I'm glad you suggested it, I would've died in that taxi had we stayed any longer." I said.

"Fine, you win Gon." Kurapika said, with a chuckle.

"All this running kinda reminds me of the Hunter exam." Kurapika said. "Yeah, it does, doesn't it?" I said. "I know right! This is way easier than the Hunter exam though." Gon said. "You're telling me." I said.

"Oh yeah. You got that right." Leorio added. "Alright, race you guys to the airport." Gon said. "Ha! You're on Gon. Make sure you close your mouth while you run so you don't eat my dust!" I said. "Ready? GO!!!!"

We were on the airship and me, Kurapika and Leorio walked over to Gon looking out a window. Leorio stuck a fry in Gon's mouth. "Cheer up, by tomorrow we'll be at Kukuroo Mountain." Leorio said.

"Yeah, and then we'll save Killua." Kurapika said. "Yeah, so live it up a bit okay Gon?" I said. "Yup!" Gon said, eating his fry.

We were now on a train heading for Kukuroo Mountain. "I can almost see it. So this is the assassin's base, huh. Looks kinda creepy doesn't?" Leorio said. "It does." Kurapika agreed. "Aw come on. You're not getting scared are you?" I said in a creepy voice.

"Hey! Cut it out!" Leorio said. "Once we get there, we gather information." Kurapika said. "Okay." Leorio said.

We walked around and asked a shopkeeper how to get to the Mountain. "Kukuroo Mountain, you'll want to take the scenic mountain bus tour over there, it only goes up there once a day, but you'll have a guide to show you around." the shopkeeper said.

"Okay, thank you very much!" I said.

We took the tour bus up to the mountain for what felt like 10 years, but we finally made it to the front gate. And BOY were they huge gates.

"Oh wow." I said. "Well would you look at that." Leorio said. "This is the front gate of the Zoldyck family estate. No one has ever come in and out alive. Which gave this gate the nickname "The door to Hades"

To go in, you have to go in through the door by the security checkpoint. But beyond that is private property, so this is as far as this tour will go." The guide said. "Hold on! This is the front gate? But the mountain is all the way over there!" Leorio screamed.

"That's right. The Zoldyck family owns Kukuroo Mountain. Every inch of it, and all of the surrounding land." The guide said. "So what you're telling me is, this is their front yard?" Leorio said. "I didn't know I was friends with a billionaire. I mean, who just owns a whole freaking MOUNTAIN?" I said.

A lot of time passed and we argued back and forth with the security guard for a while about going inside. We discovered that the front gate wasn't actually locked and that the side door is actually the intruder's door, and that the front gates are known as testing gates, and they're SOOOOOOOO heavy.

Anyway, the security guard eventually gave in, and agreed to let us in and let us see the watchdog Mike. "Uh are you sure it's safe for us to be here?" Leorio asked nervously. "Of course, you came through the testing gates with me, and Mike has strict orders not to attack anyone who comes though the testing gates, so you'll be fine.

"Mike! Come to me!!!" The security guard said. We heard the beast growl in the distance and loud footsteps and then there it was. Mike. He had black beady eyes, and purple fur, and Mike had to have been at least 12 feet tall.

He came and sat down in front of us. Gon, Leorio Kurapika and I were shaking in our boots. Once it sat down, and I realized it wasn't attacking us, I noticed Mike was actually kinda cute. I ran over to pet Mike.

"Aww, now aren't you just the cutest thing when you're not eating people. Yes you are, yes you are!!!" I said in a babyish voice. "So, Gon, do you get it now? This is a highly trained hunting beast. It's like no animal you've ever encountered before. Not by a long shot.

You thought you could communicate with him until you actually saw him didn't you? Even now, he's memorizing your appearances and scents of new humans. He's not thinking about anything else.

He's like a machine." the security guard explained. "So, do you think you could take him on Gon?" He asked. "Nu-uh, I'd be too scared. I don't ever want to fight him." Gon said, still shaking in his boots. I was still sitting next to Mike, petting him like a dog.

"So , how long are you gonna be staying here?" the security guard asked. "Until we find Killua. And not a second before!" Gon said. "Alright then, follow me." The security guard said. Man how much longer until we see Kil? I need to slap him for leaving me behind and breaking his promise.
