McKayla paced the bedroom, her heart pounding, "Oh my God. Oh my God. Oh my God." She mutters to herself.
Rehearsals had gone very well the day before, but Chris and McKayla hadn't seen each other since. Things were getting ready outside and guests were probably starting to arrive by now. McKayla was in her dress but didn't have her hair or makeup done yet.
And she was kind of freaking out.
Sophie walks in wearing a cream colored dress. She shuts the door behind her and quirks an eyebrow at McKayla.
"Anxiety?"
"Gee, how'd you guess?"
Sophie gives a small laugh, "I felt the exact same way when I was getting ready to walk down the isle to marry your father."
There's a pause.
"I wish he were here." McKayla says. She looks down at her bracelet, "Matt too..."
"Oh, honey...We all wish that they were here; especially today." Sophie says, hugging her.
Once they come apart, Sophie changes the subject.
"Are you planning on wearing your wig?"
"Yeah, why?"
"Well, I brought you something. I brought it earlier, it should be with your things." Sophie says, "Oh, here it is." She says, grabbing a box. She opens it to reveal a veil.
"I wore this on my wedding day." Sophie says before giving a small laugh, "I thought it could be your 'something old'."
"Oh, Mom...it's beautiful....And Kylie gave me this necklace to borrow, my garder has blue in it, and I only got these shoes yesterday so they can be my 'something new'."
They smile and Sophie gets teary-eyed.
"I can't believe you two are finally getting married."
"Oh, no, don't you start crying 'cause then I'm gonna start crying." McKayla says, tears already forming.
"Ohh, we haven't even done your makeup yet. You can cry."
McKayla laughs, then hugs her mom.

Chris was in a different room. His black hair simply hung down and was straightened. His eyebrows were filled in and he had a layer of black eyeshadow on along with his normal ivory foundation. He stared at himself in the mirror, adjusting his tie.
There's a knock on the door.
"Does the mother of the groom have permission to enter?"
Chris laughs, then walks over and opens the door to reveal his mother.
"Hi, sweetheart." She says, hugging him.
"Hi, Mom." He says, hugging her in return.
They break the embrace and Chris' mother smiles, "So, are you nervous?"
"A little bit..." Chris admits.
"That's alright, honey. Everyone gets a little nervous on their wedding day, but you know what? It isn't just the bride's best day ever."
Chris smiles, "I know. I'm definitely excited to finally be marrying her...I still can't believe it. I get to marry McKayla McClain today."
Chris' mother smiles, "Well they sent me in here because it's almost time to get started, so...whenever you're ready."
Chirs looks back at himself in the mirror again. This was it. He was about to become a husband. He was finally getting to make his dream woman his forever. Chris adusts himself a bit; he straightenes his jacket, then takes a deep breath.
