In the next few days, McKayla had gotten worse. Headaches were now added to the equation. She continuned to throw up as well. It worried everyone. Her boss ended up giving McKayla the rest of the week of, but he didn't sound happy about it. Even McKayla began to worry that this may becoming something more...serious. But she didn't have any other symptoms. She never felt faint, her gums or nose never bled.

Now, it was three in the morning. McKayla bolted out of bed and ran to the bathroom before once again spilling her guts out into the toilet. This was getting really annoying.

McKayla, still puking, suddenly feels a hand on her back. Once the vomiting stops, McKayla takes a minute to catch her breath before acknowledging Chris.

"Hey." She exhales.

"Hey."

"You should go back to bed. I'm fine."

"No, it's okay. I'm not leaving your side, baby."

McKayla had a small headache the next morning, but little did she and Chris know that that would only be the tip of the iceberg. McKayla and Chris had a mostly lazy day that day. They just watched TV and laid around and cuddled for the most part.

McKayla woke up with her head in Chris' lap and stretches.

"Hey." Chris says.

"Hey." McKayla repeats, "How long have I been out?"

"Not long. About half an hour. Your mom told me you've been really tired and sleeping a lot lately."

"Yeah..."

Chris woke up at 1:48 a.m. to find that McKayla wasn't next to him. Assuming she was throwing up again, Chris hurried out of bed and into the bathroom.

"Kayla?"

"Come in." McKayla croacks.

Chris opens the door to find McKayla sitting on the bathroom floor with her knees to her chest. Tears ran down her face.

"Kayla..." Chris says, getting down on his knees in front of her, "Hey, what's wrong? Are you sick again?"

"No, I haven't thrown up, I - " McKayla then cuts herself off and groans, "Oh, God..."

"What is it?"

"I don't know. Something's wrong. It hurts."

"What hurts?"

"I can't explain it in a way you'd understand. It's like period cramps but a thousand times worse. I've never felt pain like this before." McKayla says before clutching her abdomen, "Oh my God."

"Okay, okay, sshhh..." Chris says, taking his wife in his arms and rocking her, trying to get her to calm down, "I'm gonna go get you some pain killers."

"I tried those. They won't work."

"How long ago did you take them?"

"You've been up that long? Why didn't you wake me up?"

"Chris, I can barely move, this pain is so bad! I couldn't wake you up!"

"Okay, okay, try to calm down. Take a few breaths." Chris soothes. Not much helped though...

A couple hours later.

Chris went to get a heat pack for McKayla to see if the pain would go away. When he returns, McKayla was shoving her fingers down her throat before throwing up again.
