Park Chanyeol
A few minutes and a firm eye contact later, there was a knock on the door. She was quickly brought back to reality, so was I.
"Come in," I said loudly, in order for the person to hear me.
Soon after, the door was opened, revealing Minseok. I mentally rolled my eyes and sighed through my nose.
"Hyung," I said, smiling brightly at him.
Hell, I was good at this acting thing. Wait, that sounds kind of wrong. Don't misunderstand me, I didn't hate my hyung, I was just... jealous. Yes, I, Park Chanyeol, was jealous. Why? Because she liked him.
"Oh, Chanyeol, you're still here," he stated as he walked over to us. He kept his hands hidden behind his back, and suddenly, when he was finally standing beside the bed, he revealed what he held in them. Flowers. He handed them over to her with a big grin on his face.
Her face lit up as she accepted his treat. "Thank you," she whispered as she sniffled the scent of the flowers.
He kneeled beside her. "Is everything okay? Why did you faint?"
She gulped as a nervous feeling overtook her body. "Well, I..."
"It was due to exhaustion," I said, butting in.
Minseok nodded. "You should get some rest, I guess. I'll be back tomorrow." He got back on his feet. Then, he did something that not only surprised me, but her as well. He planted a small peck on her lips.
I felt my heart shatter into countless pieces.
"Chanyeol, you coming with me?" he asked, snapping me out of my inattention.
I blinked thrice. "Uh, I'll stay for a bit longer."
"Alright, be careful on your way back. Good night." And just like that, he was gone.
I heaved a sigh and snapped my fingers in front of her, who was still zoned out. "Sun-hee."
"Uh, yeah," she said as she shook her head.
"You should sleep some more. I'll stay here for a while until you fall asleep, how about that?"
She smiled and nodded. "Okay."
And so, she dozed off, with her hand holding mine, making my fragile heart beat uncontrollably against my chest. I wanted to stay there with her, but there was so much going on in my mind, and I wanted to think things through. Once she was sound asleep, I slipped my hand out of hers and left.
I made my way back to my flat. Once I closed the door, I took a deep breath and rubbed my eyes. I checked my phone. It was past one in the morning already.
I dialed Baekhyun's number and silently hoped that he was still awake.
"Hello?" His voice was raspy.
"Baek..."
"Are you alright, Chanyeol?"
"Not really. Can we talk? I know it's late, but..." I sighed. "I need someone to talk to now."
"I'll be right there, give me a minute." He hung up.
I took a seat on the couch as I waited for him.
After a few seconds, Baekhyun stepped into the apartment and walked over to my room. I followed shortly behind him. I took a seat on my bed as he sat on the swivel chair.
"So tell me," he began as he stared at me intently. "What is bothering you?"
I whined as I buried my face in a pillow. "I think I like someone," I said, but it was obviously not understandable since it came out as a muffle.
"What?" Baekhyun asked. I heard him roll the chair over to where my bed was, and soon after, the pillow was yanked away from my hold.
"Hey, Baekhyun!"
He rolled his eyes. "You called me over, so speak. Don't be ridiculous, please, you know you can trust me."
I sighed, bobbing my head slowly. "So the thing is that... well, I- I think that..."
"You like Sunhee."
I stared at him with wide eyes. "What? How did you-"
"Oh, please, Chanyeol. I'm your best friend. I notice everything..."
"Well, yeah. Uh, anyway, I just realized it today... I'm so confused and I don't know what to do." I ran a hand through my hair. "I'm in some deep shit now, since she likes Umin hyung and-"
Baekhyun smirked before cutting me off. "How are you so sure about that?"
"Wha-"
"You don't know if she really likes Minseok or not."
I lifted an eyebrow. "But she told me so..."
"But you never know." He smiled and placed his hands on my shoulders. "Why don't you win her over, my friend?"
"I couldn't do that to Minseok, when he's nothing but good to us. He's my friend..." I pouted as I stared at the floor.
Baekhyun made me look at him by holding my face in his hands. He rolled his eyes once they locked with mine. "If she likes you and not him, then he can't get mad. Make sure to let him know that you're into her, as well."
"Baekhyun, but bros go before hoes!"
He laughed as loud as he could. "I'm sure Sunhee wouldn't appreciate you calling her a hoe."
"No, what I meant was-"
"Park Chanyeol, listen. You should just explain things to Minseok. I'm sure he would understand. Even if in the end he's the one who gets to be with her, at least you warned him or let him know. Now, stop being a lame ass and do something about it. I'll help you out."
I gave him a suspicious look. "How so?"
He simply smiled and stared at the wall behind me. "Operation: Get Chan and Sun Together begins tomorrow!"
"What the hell are you talking about?"
Baekhyun chuckled. "Just wait and see."
I stared at him as if he was going crazy, but found myself nodding anyway. Whatever this plan of his was, I silently hoped that it would work out.
A few minutes later, Baekhyun excused himself since he was already sleepy. I, on the other hand, couldn't sleep at all that night.
Why am I feeling like this?
