Chapter 21

"For how long you will be gone?"

"Probably be back by Sunday night"

"Who all are going?"

"Navya, Navya's boyfriend Cabir and Mr. Malhotra?"

"Mr. Malhotra? You are going out with Raj uncle?"

"Oh Aiyappa what is wrong with you? Mr. Malhotra as in Manik Malhotra who is best friend of Cabir remember?"

"Where are you guys staying?"

"I don't know, they must have made some arrangement..."

"Who are you going to share your room with? Navya right?"

"Okay Manyu stop it...." No, not me but Appa called out, I am sure even he is tired of all this questioning session. I love my brother, I really do. But sometimes I wished how life would be so easy if I was an only child...

"Yeah Manyu, she is 26 I am sure she is capable enough to take care of herself..."

"But Amma, there are two boys, who she hardly know...''

"Nandini is working for Manik and I am sure, she knows him enough and leave her even I know that boy enough to send Nandini on a trip with him..."

"Thank you Appa..." I kissed him on the cheek, then my Mother and when I came to Abhimanyu he made a face but one look at my puppy eyes, he melted right there...

"Have fun okay?" He told me hugging.

"I will..."

I heard a car honking outside and that was my cue to leave. Manyu picked up my bag and left while I followed behind him wishing my parents goodbye. I found Manik's car in my driveway, while he was helping Manyu put my bag in the trunk... "Nandu..." Navya shouted from the window. I saw Cabir dozed off right beside her. "We have not even started the journey yet and he is already out cold?" I asked smiling..

"Well that's my Man, always hungry and always sleepy..." We both burst out laughing. Manik and Manyu joined me few seconds later. "Okay Nandu, take care and keep us updated..." He hugged me and shook hand with Manik and Navya. Manyu went back inside and Manik opened the door of passenger side for me, I slid in..

"He promised he will drive and now look at him..." Manik glared at the sleeping form of Cabir from rear view making me and Navya chuckle... "If you are tired, I can drive.." I offered politely while he shook his head. "It's okay once I will be sleepy, I will let you know..." It's a 8 hour drive and I am sure Manik cannot continue that long without a ounce of sleep. I will have to take over after few hours...

"So Navi, going for big fat royal Indian wedding han?"

"Of course babe, you only marry once hopefully, so why don't go all out for it..."

"You girls just need an excuse to do things extravagant even a simple wedding hold a same meaning as the chaotic one..." Manik snorted making me pinch his hand. He glared mouthing, "What?" I gestured at Navya, whose energy was suddenly dampened by his comment... If she wants to go all out then let her, it's a important day for her, so let her decide. We shouldn't be commenting like that...

"But a royal wedding sounds cool, I hope you guys are providing me good suite, I am going to be the best man after all?" He grinned bringing back that smile on Navya's face...

"Of course and Nandini, you will be my maid of honour..."

"Who me?"

"Well is there any other Nandini beside us in this car, of course it's you..."
