Chapter 41

"Please wait for few minutes, I am wrapping them up..." I told the lady who has come to pick Mrs. Gupta's cupcake order. I am glad it's done in time and I still have time to go back at Orphanage and maybe get a chance to meet the people who are coming for inspection.

I made sure everything was perfect and I just hope they choose our orphanage for the donation. Please Aiyappa, everything should turn out great. The future of those kids depends on you. I wrapped all the boxes neatly.

"Here.."

"Thank you so much dear. Kids will be really happy today..."

"Please don't mention it..."

"I will take my leave now..."

"Sure...."

I went to the door to see her out. My work was also almost done. I should better leave. I came out of the bakery but then remember I need to take my bag and also inform Raju.. So he can manage the rest of the day. I came back inside in a Rush.

Something slippery came down my slipper and before I could manage to hold something in order to hold myself up. I slipped, falling on my stomach. "Amma...." I screamed in pain...

"Naina didi.... Hey Ram what happened?"

Raju came towards me in panic

The pain was excruciating, tears welled up in my eyes and I started crying. My baby, Aiyappa keep my baby safe please.. "Ammaa..." I kept on murmuring before losing my consciousness...

"Please make sure to check her BP in every hour... It shouldn't exceed the given temperature..."

"Okay Doctor..."

I could hear two women talking. Everything was dark around me. Where am I? My whole body was hurting badly. My eyes fluttered open and I could see those two ladies talking. I am in a hospital. "Doctor, she is awake..." They smiled at me. Doctor came towards my bed to check my temperature while the nurse hurriedly move out.

"How are you feeling now Naina?"

"Peachy..."

"I can understand, but don't worry there is no serious injury, you will be fine in no time..." She gave me a reassuring smile which I returned. My hand sliding down on my tummy, but I frowned when I felt it was flat. I am almost 7 months pregnant and till morning I had a huge bump. Did I delivered the baby?

"Oh my God, Naina my child... You are ok?" I heard a worried voice of Sister Theresa.. who immediately came towards me. "I am fine Sister, don't worry..."

"I am so sorry dear, I shouldn't have left you all alone..." She kissed my forehead tears falling from her eyes.

"You didn't, I chose to go there. So don't blame yourself. And did you see my baby, a baby girl or boy?" I asked excitedly but the expression on her face made me frown again.

I looked at the Doctor and then back at Sister, they both look solemn.

"I delivered the baby right?"

I asked slowly this time and they both nodded their head. My smile returning back to my face. "Then where is he or she?"

"Naina, child you need to take rest okay..."

Sister Theresa was trying to dodge the topic, she couldn't even look into my eyes. Warning bells started ringing in my head. "Where is my baby?" I asked more sternly this time. But none of them spoke up... My heart clenched, no this wouldn't happen with me. Aiyappa cannot be so cruel to me.
