Chapter 16

It's been three days since that dinner at Malhotra's and since then Manik has been ignoring me. I mean, I imagined having awkward moments with him after our one-night stand, but I never knew he will ignore me blatantly. I am his assistant; he can't function without my presence in the office. But from past three days he hardly calls me in the cabin, we are just having the conversation on emails and that's it.

I know I have no right to be mad at him, because I suggested to have sex, not him. But why is he behaving like this? How can we forget it and move on if he will act like a child. My heart wanted to believe that he is upset because I escaped his penthouse that morning without even informing him. But my mind refuse, why will he care about that? It's not like I am his girlfriend or something. It was just a one-time thing and that's it.

But can I please admit I crave his touch, his kisses his dick more and more every passing day. I mean the one guy I had the best sex of my life with, had to be my rude arrogant boss, who doesn't even like me. This is not fair Aiyappa!!

I was busy daydreaming about Manik Asshole Malhotra when my phone goes off. I pick it up to see Navya calling me. I immediately accept the call.

Nandini – Hello Baby doll!

Navya – Oh you are alive?

Nandini – Well why won't I be?

Navya – Well  you have been MIA since my birthday, I literally thought you must be lying 6 feet under the ground.

Nandini – Shut up you witch, I am not leaving you alone so soon.

Navya – Good for you, now be a good girl and meet me at Barleys, tonight.

Nandini – Seriously Navi, hanging out at Barleys that too on a weekday, can't you wait till Friday?

Navya – Nope I have an important announcement to make, so be there by 8 I will wait for you.

Nandini – Okay love, see ya tonight.

Navya – Later babe!

I came home to change real quick as formal office attire was not suitable for a place like Barleys. Amma and Appa were chatting in the living room, I greeted both of them. "Amma I am having dinner with Navya, so I will be leaving now. Both of you don't wait up on me. I will be late..." I informed them quickly while they nodded.

"Okay Nandu what to wear?" A very common problem that every girl faces before leaving her house is to choose an outfit. I mean this cupboard is literally flowing over with the number of clothes it's carrying inside but I still don't find a good enough dress to wear. I need to go shopping soon. After rummaging through it for long, my hands finally land up on a silk peach sleeveless blouse and I decided to pair it up with my black leather skirt. I quickly did my hair and makeup and in the last completed my look with a knee-high boot. 

"Woah Nandu, you look hot. Now here is the thing, you must forget about a trouble called Manik Malhotra for this night and you will enjoy with your girlfriend, yep that's what you have to do." After giving myself a pep talk, and a one final glance in the mirror. I picked my pouch and left the home.

"Here..." I passed my car keys to the valet and made my way inside. Cabir has just out of the blue called three of us friends at the Barleys. I guess it's better at least spending some time with them will take my mind off my devil of an assistant who is playing with my mind now. I know I was the one who suggested there would be nothing more than a one-time fling but then when she followed the rules, slipped out of my bed that morning, I got mad. Why? I have no idea myself.
