Veiled Vendetta

CHAPTER SEVENTEEN

As Izzy made her way down the corridor towards her classroom, she suddenly felt a hand on her right shoulder. Glancing to her side, she found Luiz beside her, offering a morning greeting. They entered the classroom together, finding their friends already seated. A playful remark from Nina followed, teasing about the two arriving together, while Blake jokingly added that they wouldn't be the sole couple anymore. Their friends laughed and teased, oblivious to the other classmates' envious glances.

Izzy tried to clarify, "Guys, we just ran into each other in the corridor. Nothing more." Luiz remained calm, not reacting to the teasing banter.

During their class, Luiz discreetly passed a note to Izzy, prompting her to read it. The message queried, "When are we going to do it?" Confused at first, Izzy glanced at the note, to which Luiz clarified in writing, "About what we spoke yesterday."

Understanding the context, Izzy jotted down a response, "Saturday, and we'll reveal it during Monday's assembly." Luiz acknowledged her message with a nod. Izzy continued writing, "I'll take care of the CCTV footage. Meet me behind the school on Saturday." After confirming their plan, Izzy tore the note into pieces and disposed of it.

As the students diligently scribbled their test answers, Jay's watchful gaze wandered across the classroom. His attention fixated on Nina, whose strained expression hinted at more than just academic pressure. Sensing something amiss, Jay observed her intently. Suddenly, Nina's complexion turned pallid, and her eyes widened in distress. With a silent urgency, Jay sprang from his seat, reaching Nina just in time to prevent her collapse.

Swiftly catching Nina, Jay ensured she didn't lose her balance. Concern etched on his face, he guided her out of the classroom, evoking the teacher's nod of approval to escort her to the nurse's room.

As the test concluded, Evy hastened to inform their friends in another classroom while the rest rushed to the infirmary to check on Nina. Izzy and her classmates, having completed their exams, surrounded Nina in the infirmary, offering her reassurance and concern.

Their circle of support grew as Blake burst into the room, accompanied by Jade, Evy, and Alex, all eager to ensure Nina was alright. Their unified presence provided a comforting reassurance to Nina amidst her unanticipated illness.

He settled down next to Nina, his tone filled with concern. "Baby, my precious. Have you hurt yourself anywhere? I was so scared when Evy mentioned you falling from your chair during class," Blake expressed, worried about Nina's well-being. Nina assured him, "I'm fine, Blake. It's just a stomach problem."

Izzy exchanged a look with Luiz, who seemed attentive. Alex interjected, taking responsibility, "Sorry, Nina. It's all my fault. We haven't been able to supply our ingredients here." Evy chimed in, "It's not your fault, Alex. The school manages the meals, not your business." Nina concurred, "Absolutely, it's not on you, Alex. It's the school's responsibility."

Izzy offered reassurance, "I'm sure things will get better soon. For now, let's focus on taking care of Nina." The group nodded in agreement. As Izzy and Luiz stepped outside the infirmary, Luiz mentioned, "So, Nina got sick today." Izzy responded thoughtfully, "I know. Seeing my friends in trouble... I'm going to take more drastic action than I initially planned." Luiz looked puzzled and asked, "What do you mean?" Izzy smiled mysteriously and said, "You'll find out soon enough."

After school Izzy told her friends that she had some plans, The twins were teasing her saying she was going on a date and Luiz had to upgrade his game. Izzy rode her bike and left first. She parked her bike and headed to her father's office. The employees there knew who she was, she didn't have a limit on where she could go in the office building. She asked the receptionist 'Where is my dad?' The receptionist replied 'He is having a meeting right now, you are not supposed to go there.' Izzy smiled and said 'There is no place in this building that I can't enter.' She went straight to the meeting room as she was headed, she saw BJ and DJ as well. She signaled them to follow her. At the door of the meeting, one of the guards stopped her and said 'Sorry, Miss Wilson but you are not allowed to enter right now.' Izzy smiled and replied 'But, no room here is restricted to me.' She asked BJ and DJ to hold the two guards and she went inside.

 Izzy's father was discussing something about the "Davies Company," which happened to be Alex's family business. Izzy exclaimed loudly, "Yes." Her father and the others in the meeting noticed her presence, and he asked, "Izzy, what are you doing here?"

In response, Izzy confidently replied, "Can't I be in my own father's office?" Her father smiled and agreed, saying, "Of course, dear."

Curious about the discussion, Izzy asked, "So, what's this conversation about? I heard something about Davies." The person presenting the idea explained, "Miss Wilson, we were discussing a potential partnership with the Davies Company."

Izzy took a seat and inquired, "Why? What's the plan?" The speaker elaborated, "We're considering a partnership to expand our market by introducing their products to our City W."

Intrigued, Izzy further probed, "How would it benefit both companies?" The speaker explained, "It will enhance the variety of products in our city. Additionally, Davies Company hasn't been able to distribute their products due to a lack of manpower."

Izzy interrupted, suggesting, "So, it's a win-win. We get superior products, and they can access our company's HR for the required manpower." The speaker agreed, saying, "Exactly."

Pleased with the idea, Izzy turned to her father, stating, "I like the concept. But, ultimately, it's your decision. I'm just expressing my support for the idea." Her father acknowledged her input, expressing, "My daughter has been handling City W for a while now. I trust her decision-making skills. I approve."

Eager to contribute more, Izzy added, "I have some ideas to enhance this partnership." Her father granted permission, saying, "Izzy can use this meeting room. The meeting is adjourned for everyone else."
