CHAPTER SEVEN (T.W: DISGUST)

Her mother assured her, saying, "Sure, I'll ask them. Don't worry, I'll find out somehow." Izzy expressed her gratitude, saying, "Thanks, Mom," before heading to her room.

The following day, Izzy found herself in the school's bathroom with her group of friends. The chatter revolved around the impending meeting of their mothers. Nina, in her typical fashion, was lamenting about Blake's irritating behavior. Evy seized the moment, saying, "Today our moms meet Izzy's mother for the first time." All eyes turned to Izzy, who simply nodded in agreement.

Taking the opportunity, Izzy began, "This morning, my mom was pondering what to get the other moms as a gift. I suggested something that moms love." Curiosity piqued, Jade chimed in, "So, what did she decide on?" A smile graced Izzy's face as she revealed, "She got free vouchers for a full body massage." Laughter filled the bathroom, lightening the atmosphere.

Evy's voice followed amidst the laughter, "Honestly, I think our mothers would love that." Nina nodded in agreement, mentioning her mother's complaints about needing rest. Jade added, "My mother must be tired of looking after Jay so much." Their laughter echoed, filling the space.

Just then, Izzy's phone pinged, signaling a new message. Checking her phone, she realized it was from her mother. "Guys, look," Izzy announced, turning the phone screen toward her friends. "My mom sent me a video." Without delay, she tapped to play, revealing footage of their mothers gathered in a restaurant, seated together in a private room.

Izzy's mother appeared on the video, her voice beaming with enthusiasm. "Izzy, I'm with the girls right now. Everything's going splendidly, and they loved the gift," she exclaimed. One of the women chimed in, addressing Izzy indirectly, "We adore your mom, and she always speaks highly of you. Please be kind to my trouble-making twins." The twins' mother exuded vibrant energy. Studying closely, Izzy noticed that all the mothers wore elegant outfits, each expressing their unique personalities. Another woman spoke up, "Izzy, you did a great job bringing your mother into our group. My son isn't very talkative, so I hope you two can become friends." Evy glanced at Izzy and remarked, "That's Luiz's mom."

The video concluded with the mothers encouraging Izzy to bond with their children. As it ended, Izzy received another text from her mom, a request for the picture she wanted to inquire about. Swiftly, she sent the image of the ring to her mother before heading off to class.

Later, when Izzy reunited with the group, the girls recounted the contents of the video to the boys. Izzy forwarded the video to everyone, and they huddled together, watching and discussing it. Blake, in a different context, mentioned Chris's arrival at school with evident injuries. The boys speculated that he might have been in a victorious fight, but Izzy knew the truth behind Chris's injuries.

The school day had drawn to a close, and students were busying themselves by retrieving their belongings from their lockers. Amidst the bustling activities, Izzy was engrossed in reading a message from her mother. The text read, "I got the information, I have already sent the information to the boys." Engaged in her phone, she noticed Evy extracting a charming blue box with delicate ribbons adorning it. Izzy recognized the box immediately and approached Evy. 

"Evy, can I take a look at that box?" she inquired. Evy handed the box over with a smile, "Sure, it was left on my desk, probably a gift. Happens often." Izzy grinned, "Do you need it?" Evy shook her head, "No, I was planning to see what's inside and donate it somewhere." Izzy nodded, "Alright, could I have it then?" Evy agreed, "Of course, take it." Izzy stowed the box into her bag discreetly and wandered off behind the school grounds, unaware that two of her friends were trailing close behind her.

Izzy found herself behind the school, near a tap with a bucket of water in hand. She gingerly opened the box Evy had given her and tipped its contents into the water-filled bucket. The box revealed a collection of dead cockroaches that now floated lifelessly in the water. Suddenly, a voice startled her. "That's disgusting," remarked Alex, followed by Luiz's agreement. Startled, Izzy turned around abruptly. "God, you scared me," she exclaimed. Both boys seemed fixated on the bucket, and Alex added, "We saw you leaving with Evy's box, so we were just curious."

Izzy offered a smile and retorted, "Why? You thought I was up to no good?" Luiz quickly interjected, "No, no, we were just curious." Izzy met Luiz's eyes and remarked, "I know you guys don't trust me."
