Malacañang Palace, Greater Manila Area, Republika ng Pilipinas—

September 14, 2041; 8:36 PM—

Secluded in the presidential study, President Ramon Villarosa calmly sat on his seat and read some history books on his desk. Currently, the Philippines were well into their Typhoon season, and as per usual, it was raining right above his nation. Though visually appealing, he had certainly aged but still held most of his vigor during his young teens well into his early presidency.

As he read his book in the silence of his study. He suddenly noticed something amiss with his surroundings. He didn't know if it was his eyes, but it seemed as if his surroundings were flickering. Raising his head towards the ceiling, he found the chandelier above him to have been suspiciously flickering.

That's odd, the lights are flickering... I'm pretty sure ever since the reactor at Malolos opened we're running on surplus, is there perhaps a problem?

Villarosa then stood up from his seat and upon analyzing the flickering lights, it suddenly exploded. A sudden POP! exploded within the room making Villarosa flinch backwards. Then, blinded by the darkness of his office, he turned towards his window and saw nothing but darkness all across the window. He couldn't see even a faint of illumination from the capital's skyline.

"Mr. President!"

Immediately, PSG guards immediately entered the room, sensing danger the moment the explosion of the chandelier was heard. They were armed lightly, mostly pistols and submachine guns likes MP5K and the locally produced, PR-6 submachine gun. Without any orders, they made a perimeter around the president and promptly closed the curtains of the study.

"What happened?!" Villarosa yelled, wanting to find answers.

"We don't know, Mr. President. All we do know is that a major blackout has occurred."

"Major?" Villarosa took sometime to understand how much weight its meant. "...All of manila?"

"W-we don't know the extent of the blackout." The Head of the Presidential PSG detail, Efran Juarez looked down.

"Damn it. I want the electricity up and running immediately!"

Immediately, the President walked past Efran and promptly exited his study. To which numerous members of the Malacañang staff were seen running from hall to hall, carrying documents on their hands.

"Penge Candila!" Yelled one of the office staff.

"Putangina naman oh! Di ko pa-save yung file na yun!"

There were numerous shouts and yells heard from one room to the other, Villarosa furrowed his eyebrows and returned to his study. He walked towards Efran and told him.

"I want you to contact the DOE once the power's back up. Tell them I want to speak with them ASAP."

"Of, course. Mr. President."

"And I don't want any half-assing here. Mobilize the PNP and nearby AFP divisions and support the populace. Casualties must be kept minimum and I wa—"

"Mr. President!" A yell suddenly took most of the PSG and president off guard.

It took the attention of the President. At first, he was annoyed but since the voice came from his security detail. Thinking it was important, Villarosa recomposed himself and calmly asked the man why he shouted.

"What?"

"The Bathala-3 mission successfully orbited the moon, right?" He asked a question, very much out of topic.
