Oh, no, Sophie thought, everything is going to be so much harder now. Sophie didn't know who the father is and she really didn't want to do a DNA test. She still didn't like those things that you lick, especially if everyone uses the same one. Plus, she wasn't sure if that's how you get new DNA.
Sophie stared at Elizabeth. Fitz, stared at Sophie. Grady and Edaline looked at all of them. "You'll get all the help you need, Sophie," Edaline said softly. "Yes. We will help you and the baby as much as we can. Your friends will too, I'm sure." Grady said, a little too loud. Elizabeth started crying.
"Mamaaaaa!" She cried. Sophie was surprised. She didn't think elf babies actually talked when they were born.
"Shh. It's okay, Lizzy. You're okay," Sophie cooed, trying her best to settle Elizabeth down. In a minute or so, Elizabeth was sound asleep.
"She's so cute. I hope I can take care of her well enough so she grows up happy," talking to herself, more than Fitz and her parents. "We can help you," Edaline said again.
And we still have this, Fitz transmitted and then winked at Sophie. "I'll help you until you go back to school, thwn I am sure Edaline and Grady will watch her. I still have work, you know. But I am still off for another three months." He said. "I will be there."Even if I am not the father.
Sophie smiled and snuggled up with Elizabeth. She was hers. She had her own baby. It will be hard, but she will raise Elizabeth, especially with the help of her friends.
"Mama," Elizabeth mumbled in her sleep. "Yes, mama," Sophie said to Elizabeth. "I'm your mama."
