Becoming the Future

Chapter 24

A/N I hope you like this chapter and the last one I wrote. :-) by the way, do you like the new cover? Lizzy is so cute! (P.s. that is the little girl in the heart)

Sophie just grabbed Lizzy's hand and leaped her to Everglen. "Fitz, Fitz, Fitz," Lizzy said over and over again, adding "daddy" in every once in awhile.

Sophie thought it was best that Fitz was the father. He is so helpful and is good with Lizzy, who loves him.

She walks towards the gates, still holding her hand. Then, they open and she walks in. Della greets them and follows them into the house, after hugging both of them.

Sophie automatically asks if Fitz is home. Della smiled and said,"Yes. You came on a day that Fitz isn't at work. He won't be for a little bit because nothing big is happening at the moment." Sophie nodded, smiled and walked to Fitz's room. Lizzy followed close behind. She knew Everglen like it was her own home.

She knocked on the door and took a deep breath. She picked up Lizzy as the door opened. He smiled at them and Sophie walked in.

Seeing Sophie's worried expression, he sat her down and asked,"What's wrong? Did something bad happen." Sophie smiled and said,"No. Nothing bad. I just wanted to tell you that...you Lizzy's dad."

Fitz froze and Sophie was afraid of how he would react. Hopefully he wouldn't yell or throw things. But he didn't. He jumped up with a huge grin on his face and hugged them both. He lifted Lizzy out of Sophie's arms and said,"I'm your Daddy!" Lizzy giggled and said,"Daddy!"

Fitz hugged her and then Sophie. So, does this mean you pick me? Fitz transmitted. Sophie smiled and answered, Yes. And I probably might have picked you even if I didn't have Lizzy.

Cool, so are we going on another date? Fitz asked. Sure. I could use a "date night." She answered, even thought she was just at that party last night.

Fitz grabbed Sophie's hand and led her to the living room. Biana was visiting, apparently, with her boyfriend, Ryan. They were talking to Della and Alden. Biaba looked at them holding hands and smiled. "Hi, guys. Anything new?" She winked. "Yes. Actually. I have to call my parents first but then we have an announcement to make." They nodded their heads. Fitz sat in an overstuffed armchair, holding Lizzy, while Sophie went to call Grady and Edaline.

After she told them to come to everglen, Sophie went back to the living room and found people laughing. Soon Sophie was laughing, too. They heard a knock on the door and then in a couple of seconds Grady and Edaline walked into the living room. Sophie and Fitz glanced at eachother. They told them to sit down and they did.

Then, Sophie and Fitz stood up. "We have an announcement to make," Sophie said. "Yes. We would both like to tell you that..."

"Fitz is Lizzy's father," Sophie finished. She looked at the people in the room. They were standing there with stunned looks. Well, except Fitz and Lizzy of course. They were both smiling their similar smiles. And their eyes were sparkling. "Sophie! I can't believe it! Does that mean you guys are getting married? I'd be your sister!" Biana squealed, jumping up and down, vanishing every time she jumped.

"We decided to go on another date. Tonight. So, who would like to watch Lizzy?" Fitz asked. All the adults and Biana raised their hands. Ryan stayed quiet. "Ok. I think Della and Alden should watch her, since my mom and dad always watch her." Sophie decided.

Biana cleared her throat. "I,-we, have something to tell you. Ryan told me I should tell you. He transmitted it." Apparently Ryan is a Telepath. She cleared her throat again, glanced at Ryan and then Lizzy and finally said, very quietly, "I'm pregnant."

Fitz snorted, "I guess we are all telling news." But then he walked over to Biana and said,"Good job, little sis. You won't regret it. Having a kind is hard but it is worth everything."

She smiled and hugged him and then Ryan. Fitz walked over to Sophie and hugged her. Then, Lizzy hugged everyone.

Alden and Della had tears in their eyes and so did Grady and Edaline, but not as much. Alden and Della were going to have two grandkids and Grady and Edaline were going to have a son-in-law. Plus, he is their close friends' son. Everything is happening so fast, Sophie transmitted to Fitz. Yeah, but it's all worth it. Sophie smiled and then transmitted, So, how about that date?

How about we get ready first? Fitz smiled. Sophie nodded and leaped to Havenfield. She got leggings that were teal and a black, long, tunic. She put on black sandals and hust brushed her hair. She didn't even put on make up. Fitz didn't care how she looked.

She heard a knock on her door and Fitz walked in. "Ready for the date?" Fitz asked. "Ready as I'll ever be." She answered. She grabbed Fitz's hand, looking at his outfit. He was wearing a teal tunic and black pants. They matched. His cape was brown, like her eyes.

Fitz pulled out his pathfinder and the light whisked them away, to the next biggest step of their future.
