Chapter 38

"Hello, Elwin," Fitz greeted kindly. Sophie hugged him. Lizzy was asleep in Fitz's arms. "Hi, guys. Long time no see." He winked at Sophie.

"So, today Lizzy is getting a check up, correct?" Elwin asked. "Yes. It was already scheduled. But we also need you to see what's wrong with her. She is sick." Elwin frowned and Lizzy. "What's her symptoms?"he asked.

"She has been tired, she has a sore throat and sometimes she has coughing fits and it's hard for her to stop coughing," Fitz said.

"Let me see her," Elwin replied. He grabbed Lizzy from Fitz's arms and set her on the cot. She started coughing. "I see." Elwin said. He flashed an orb around her face and frowned. He ran into his office and then came back with a book. He searched through it fast and thrn stopped on a page. He read over it and sighed with relief.

"It looks like she isn't too sick and I can fix her within three days." He announced. Sophie let out her breath that she had been holding. "So she's ok?" She asked, running over to hold Lizzy's hand. "Yes," he answered. "She just has a sickness only elves can get. It has almost the same symptoms as Strep Throat." He grabbed an elixer and said,"Give her this be for she goes to be for the next three days and she'll be good as new."

She took them and he finished the doctor appointment. "Other than being a little sick, it looks like she is a very healthy little girl and she is growing well." Sophie smiled and asked quietly, "Could you look to see if I am pregnant? I think I am."

Elwin nodded and flashed an orb around her stomach. He grinned and said,"You're two months pregnant."

"But...how?!" Sophie asked. "I'm not getting any bigger and I only just throw up yesterday."

"That is a little strange, but not every pregnancy is the same. Your baby will probably be a little small."Elwin said. Sophie ran to Fitz and hugged him. Everyone was smiling, except Lizzy, who had fallen asleep.

"We're going to have another Vacker," Sophie said. "Yes. And we will have an even happier family." Fitz said. He flashed his movie star smiled and Sophie and Fitz kissed. It was the perfect moment, until Elwin started crying. "I'll just...go to my office," he said and left.

Fitz and Sophie laughed. They picked up Lizzy and leaped to their home, Safenfree.
