Loki Swanson, 21, was listening to his music on the way back to his apartment. He just got done with burying some of Emily's stuff and attending her funeral.

Although he has an ego as massive as Jupiter and as fragile as porcelain, Loki knew that he could be targeted next, and if they skip him, his girlfriend, Mackenzie would be the one who is targeted next. He knew that tommorrow, he must not leave Mackenzie's side, although it would be a challenge for his-egotistical-self. He knew that either one of them would fall victim if they weren't careful.

It was no surprise that some mysterious person was spamming the same email, glorifying it as some early graduation gift. Loki knew that he shouldn't trust emails that are luring him into Heaven knows what. Regardless of what it is, people like that disgust him, they are a waste of his time and space on his emails.

Loki continued to drive as he was closeby his apartment, anticipating the workload he must do for tommorrow and how he is going to get it all done within such a time cruch. He knew that if he didn't keep his grades up, he would have to retake all his classes and that would be a pain. Loki knew that his parents don't want to pay for his mistakes, and he knew that he must keep up with rent. He was just tired of all the pressure to have excellent grades, to impress his parents and other people, and protect his massive, fragile ego from shattering.

He finally made it to the apartment building he's living in, he began walking up the stairs and watched out for trip hazards, what the children call toys, since there are children living around these parts. He finally made it to his apartment at the 6th floor as he opened the door and placed his bookbag on the couch, before plopping onto it.

"Today was exhausting! But... I must make sure all my work is done or my parents will totally kill me!" Loki then grabbed his laptop out of the bookbag and opened it, beginning to do his schoolwork, lest he'd be disowned by his parents.

The Next Day...
06 October 2019

Tamara was sitting down, on one of the benches, just got done with a class. She then noticed that Loki and Mackenzie walking together.
"What is going on?" Tamara asked.
"Tamara, we have been dating ever since freshman year, so there's nothing wrong with strolling around campus together." Mackenzie replied.
"Okay, you guys never disclosed about your relationships with one another, let alone you two dating one another, on your YouTube channel." Tamara added.
"The real reason why are we strolling around campus is because, I know that I may be their next target and I don't even want to know what will become of me or Mackenzie!" Loki interjected.
"Is that true? Are you really trying to protect me from those transformations?" Mackenzie asked, "And that's coming from an egotistical guy like you..."
"Yes, and yes, I don't want you to get hurt, but not anymore than I want to see myself get hurt." Loki replied.
"Okay, let's just pray for the best and prepare for the worst, Loki." Mackenzie added, before the two walked away from Tamara, who returned to resting on the bench, playing her 3DS.
-------------------------------
Mackenzie and Loki continued to stroll around campus, noticing how awfully quiet it is. Things were quiet, too quiet.
"Must be the disappearances taking place, people really don't feel safe to be roaming around campus anymore." Mackenzie mumbled to Loki.
Loki gulped, "Yeah, but it is a good thing that we are brave enough to overcome any challenge that is thrown at us. I am not going to let some pathetic disappearances and transformations force me into hiding, and neither will you!"
"Yeah, nothing holding me back." Mackenzie added, "But you gulped, are you really sure that you're not afraid of what's happening to everyone around us. People are disappearing left and right."
"Not my fault! And I am definitely not afraid. What is the worst that the troublemaker responsible for this going to do?" Loki replied, before Patrick rushed over to be in front of the duo.
"Guys! I am planning to play some Mortal Kombat after classes, and oh, I have invited Tamara over. Belle's permission? Who gives a shit!?" Patrick chuckled.
"Why Mortal Kombat specifically?" Mackenzie raised an eyebrow.
"Because it has gore and it is such a fun, violent game!" Patrick smiled.
"You're really off your rails today, aren't you?" Mackenzie asked.
"Isn't he always?" Loki asked.
"Rest assure you that there's nothing is wrong with me." Patrick chuckled.
"See you after classes then, okay." Loki replied, before walking past Patrick with Mackenzie.

Later...
Loki knocked on Patrick's door, having Mackenzie next to him, "Patrick, open up, it is us, Loki and Mackenzie. We are here to play Mortal Kombat with you." Loki spoke in front of the door, before Patrick answered it.
"Loki, Mackenzie, you're finally here! I cannot wait to show off my skills to the team and our fan!" Patrick chuckled, hugging both Loki and Mackenzie. Loki, of course, wasn't big on hugging, so Loki latched himself off Patrick's grip.
"Get off of me, you should be aware I'm not big on hugs by now!" Loki scowled.
"Okay, whatever you say, Loki!" Patrick replied, as the three headed towards the room, closing the door behind them and meeting up with Reina and Tamara.
"Alrighty, the whole gang is here and we are going to part-ay after a whole week's worth of school work!" Patrick cheered as he grabbed one of the PS3 controllers and prompted Tamara to play Mortal Kombat. While everyone began to party.
