Chapter Eleven: STACY
Mason came into the room with a puzzled expression.
"Did something happen between you two?"
"No." I lied. "Stella was just upset."
"You mean Stellina?" Crap. I sighed. It's time to tell him the truth.
"Actually that's not her real name. Her real name is Stella. And my name's not Anna, it's Stacy." It felt good to get it off my chest.
Mason looked shocked.
"Really?" He asked.
"Yes. I'm sorry I lied. I was just trying to protect us."
"Oh. Ok. I guess I can kinda see why." He paused a moment. "Is there anything else you lied about?"
"No."
"Ok. Hey, I never found out how old you guys are."
"I'm 15, and Stella is 11."
"Wow. She's only 11? She seems so grown up!"
"Yea, I know. That's what everyone always says."
Mason just looked at me. I wondered what was on his mind.
"You are so beautiful." Apparently I was on his mind! Does that mean he likes me? "Especially when you blush." He said as he pinched my cheeks.
"Don't!" I scowled.
"Oh come on. I'm just trying to have a little fun. Besides, I'm just scared to have to squeeze the puss out of your burn." I cringed at the thought.
"Hey," Mason said, his voice soft. He looked into my eyes and that's all it took. I knew he was the one. He had to be. I closed my eyes and leaned in toward him. This time, he let me kiss him. I loved the feel of his soft lips against mine. I could feel him kissing me back. My first kiss! I slowly pulled away, even though I didn't want to. I looked into Mason's glowing green orbs again. I could get lost in them. They were so beautiful. HE was so beautiful. Gosh, I'm so cheesy. My. First. Kiss. I felt amazing!
"I think I love you." I murmured.
"What?" He asked. Oh shoot, I didn't mean to say that aloud! What do I do, what do I do, what do I do, what do I do?!
"Um, I said I think I love you." I said hardly even louder.
"You do?" He asked. There was something in his eyes. It didn't appear to be happiness though. It almost looked like... sadness.
"Yes." I said. Too prove my point, I kissed him again, only a little longer this time.
"Stop." I gave him a confussed look. "This isn't right. I hardly even know you and you'll have to leave soon."
I felt my heart breaking into small shards.
"It won't work out between us."
I felt the shards being stepped on and crushed, into a small, fine dust.
How could he? How could he share my first kiss, only to break my heart right after?
A deep sob wracked my body. I mumbled something incoherently.
"What?"
"Can't we work something out?" I looked up at Mason to find his eyes were filled with tears.
"No. I'm sorry. I'm telling you it won't work out." I slapped him. "Hey! What the hell was that for?"
"You haven't even tried. Is that what you are? A lazy quiter? Hmm?"
"Anna, I mean Stacy, please. You don't understand-"
"I don't! How can you share my first kiss with me, only to break my heart? How?" I was now yelling at him.
"Stacy. Please." Mason begged me.
"Arrrg!" I crossed my arms in fromt of my chest and looked away.
"Stacy." Mason touched my arm. "Stacy, you don't understand." He takes a deep breath. "I love you." My head snaps to him.
Did he just say he loves me?
"You- you do?"
"Yes. I do! But I don't want us to be heartbroken when you have to leave. And you won't be able to stay." I looked into Mason's pleading eyes.
"Oh Mason!" I wrapped my arms around his neck and gave him the most bone-crunching hug ever. He wrapped his arms around my waist and rubbed my back. I pulled away and looked at his face.
"I love you." I whispered. Mason sighed.
"I can't deny that I love you too." And he leaned down and kissed me again. This time the kiss seemed to stretch through eternity. It was amazing. Mason let out a deep sigh.
"What's that about?" I asked him.
"I'm just regretting that I'll have to squeeze the puss out of your wound." I cringed.
"Let's just do it now and get it over with." While I'm still feeling your love.
"Ok."
