Chapter Twenty-Five: STELLA

I gave Stacy a long, comforting hug. After she told me everything, I tried my best to comfort her. I made her get ready for bed, and then helped her under the covers. I felt like the big sister. Stacy was heartbroken. I don't see why. She barely even knew Mason, so why make a big deal out of him cheating on her? Silly young 'love.'

I hope Stacy will work things out with Mason. Otherwise it could get very awkward...

I want to stay here forever. What feels like forever ago, we once lived in a house with my dad. Then for three years we were continuously running. To just rest here felt so good. I never want to leave.

Stacy was starting to calm down and wasn't crying as hard. Her tears were starting to dry.

"Stella, what do I do?" Stacy whispered to me. I thought about it for a moment. It felt so weird to have her asking me for advice. She was the older sister. She was supposed to give me advice.

"What did he do when you caught him kissing that girl?"

"He was a complete jerk." I sighed.

"Come on now Stacy, you have to tell me what exactly did he do." She took one long breath in and out.

"Fine. Well at first he was shocked and then... I was starting to leave but he chased after me telling me to wait and he kept trying to apologize." I thought for a moment before answering her.

"Well either he's sorry he got caught or he really is truly sorry. People make mistakes Stacy. You can't pretend you don't either. Give him a chance. Let him explain himself. When you're ready to hear it of course. But you should still listen to him." Stacy stared at me for a moment before sighing.

"Yeah, I guess you're right. I should at least give him a chance. I mean, I haven't seen very many romantic movies, but I'm pretty sure all couples fight." She gave me a small smile that I returned.

"Good. Now let's go to bed. It's kind of late." I turned off the light and then I lied down besides Stacy. As I was drifting off to sleep, I heard the front door open and close.
