RUN

Chapter Ten: STELLA
When Mason opened the door, him and Stacy both had giant grins on there faces.
"Just what were you guys doing?" I asked accusingly.
"Tickle fight." Mason said with what was supposed to be a seductive grin.
"Well you should stop." I was furious. Doesn't Stacy know we won't be able to stay? Why is she doing this to herself? I stormed down the hall and sat at the kitchen table until Mason came carrying Stacy. I glared at them.
Mason gave me a confused look. I hated him. Why did he have to go and seduce my sister? And why didn't Stacy know better? Sometimes the world just made me mad. It's all so unfair.

After a breakfast of Corn Pops, we went into the living room to check up in Stacy's leg.
"Ok, I'm unwrapping the bandage now." Mason gingerly unwrapped the bandage. I gasped. Mason just stared at my sister's leg.
"What? What's wrong?" Stacy exclaimed. She tried to sit up and look at her leg but Mason pushed her back down.
"Don't. It looks gruesome."
"Will someone PLEASE tell me what's going on?" Stacy asked agitated.
"Your burn- it's full of puss." I explained. Stacy gasped.
"Really?" I nodded. "That's bad. Really bad. What do we do?"
"We can squeeze the puss out." Mason offered. Stacy cringed.
"I suppose it must be done." Mason went up to the bathroom to get the first aid kit and a wet washcloth.
"What the hell do you think you're doing?" I questioned Stacy.
"What do you mean?" She asked, clearly shocked.
"Oh you know what, I'm talking about how you and Mason are hitting on each other. You know we need to keep running. We can't just settle down here."
"I- I know but-"
"Stacy why are you doing this to yourself?"
"Stella, you don't understand-"
"You're right Stacy. I don't." I stormed out of the room and bumped shoulders with Mason.
"Hey, what's going on?" He asked,
"Outta my way jerk." I said not even looking back. I could just imagine his shocked face.
"Wait! He called. "Where are you going?"
"Out." I told him lamely. I walked out the back door and took a walk.
