CHAPTER SEVEN:
MY SISTER'S KEEPER

🥀🖤

MARGOT AND GLENN were missing. According to Michonne, they were in a town that was overrun, and Margot and Glenn split off with Nicholas. Glenn had an idea that if they lit fires, it would stop the walkers from coming to Alexandria after the herd had ventured off course due to the large horn that had sounded when the Wolves had tried to storm Alexandria. Margot offered to help, so they both went with Nicholas. Michone said that the fire never got lit but they had to keep moving. Michonne had no idea what had happened to them or if they were still alive.

Melanie placed a shaky hand over her mouth at Michonne's words. Michonne continued as Melanie and Maggie were both brought to tears, "Glenn said that if they got stuck, they would find a way to send us a signal."

"A signal?" Maggie asked as Michonne nodded.

A tear fell down Melanie's cheek. She had just gotten her sister back. For almost a year, she thought Margot was dead. She had only found out a month ago that she wasn't and now, Melanie had lost her again. Melanie shook her head, "This can't be happening. This can't be happening."

Michonne stepped forward, "Melanie --"

"I just got her back!" Melanie yelled as she started to sob. "I just got her back!"

Maggie grabbed Melanie and pulled her in for a hug. Both of them had people that they loved that were missing. They understood completely how the other was feeling. Melanie held onto Maggie who was starting to cry as well. Maggie rubbed Melanie's back as Melanie tried to stop herself from crying so hard. Melanie didn't know what she would do if she never saw her sister again. She couldn't go through that again. Hadn't she been through enough already?

As Melanie attempted to pull herself together, Rick's voice echoed into Alexandria. Melanie didn't understand what he was yelling but once she heard the groans of hundreds of walkers, Melanie didn't need to hear to understand. Melanie ran over to the gate with Maggie and Michonne. Michonne pulled open the gate and Melanie's eyes widened at the sight. Rick was sprinting toward the gate with hundreds of walkers around him. The herd had come to Alexandria.

Rick tripped as she pushed one of the walkers down. He fell to the ground but quickly got up and rushed inside as Michonne, Maggie, and Morgan helped close the gate while the walkers clawed at the gate. But they didn't just claw at the gate. The walker growling came from all around the walls of Alexandria and it echoed inside the walls.

The Alexandrians quickly came to the front gate, wanting to know what all the commotion was about. The sound echoed in Melanie's ears, the growling and the scratching at the metal walls. When the Wolves attacked, they had taken a truck and attempted to crash through the walls but Spencer stopped them. They still slammed into one of the walls but it was still upright and intact. Some of the men had grabbed wooden posts and pushed them up against the wall in an attempt to add some extra support to balance the amount of weight the walkers were pushing against it.
