(Leaf POV) Its been approximately two days since our battle on the pokémon tower. After I left, I beat the Fuchsia gym and visited the safari zone as well in quick time. Once I had completed everything I wanted to do in the city, I quickly passed route 17 and the cycling road. Gastly even evolved into Haunter.

Wanting a break, I decided to relax on a beach but I soon noticed a struggling pokémon in the water.

Leaf:Oh no! Venusaur use your vines to save that water pokémon.
Venusaur:Vena vena. (On it)
Venusaur then extended its whips and dragged the pokémon out of the water. I soon realised that the pokémon we rescued was a Lapras.

However, the Lapras didn't look so good it had bruises and whip marks all over its body. It also had a preexisting scar on one of its fins. Their trainer probably abused and released it because it could swim.
Leaf:There, there Lapras. I'll bring you to the pokémon center over there.

Nurse Joy:OK your pokémon should be better now. We hope to see you again.
Leaf:Thank you Nurse Joy. No matter what sibling or cousin you are. You're always helpful.
She simply smiled at me as I exited the building. However, the Lapras was very scared and cold to me. It even got to the point where it used one of its ice moves to attack us. However, Venusaur took the attack instead.
Leaf:Lapras you can trust me I'm a friend not a foe.
The Lapras just looked at me menacingly and waddled back into the water. Venusaur wanting to help ran over to the Lapras and started to talk to it. After it had finished Venusaur came over to me.
Venusaur:Venusaur, vena, vena. *acting out what Lapras told it*
Due to Venusaur's actions I could somewhat get the main point of Lapras' attitude. It seems like it was kicked out of her family because of her disability. So when a trainer caught it thinking it was a strong pokémon he was furious when it couldn't swim or perform water types attacks effectively. So he started abusing her before leaving her on the shore.
Leaf:*runs to Lapras* Oh Lapras I'm so sorry that happened to you. Here have some of these. *pulls out berries she stored*
I was expecting Lapras to take the berries but it just swatted them away and didn't accept them. I don't know why I thought of this but it reminded me of my relationship with Auro, Gary and Ash. It feels like I'm getting left behind with Gary becoming more evil and cold, Auro always moving forward and paving his own legend, even Ash is becoming a competent and strong battler. How can I even call myself a strong trainer if I can't even help one Lapras.
Leaf:No Lapras. Don't worry I'll stay here with you until you're ok.
I withdrew Venusaur into its pokéball and stayed by Lapras' side all day. I occasionally fed it when it was time to eat and let it into the water when necessary. Even after all of my efforts it still found me untrustworthy which was expected.
Leaf:Try all you like Lapras I won't give up.
Lapras:*growls* Lapras, lap
I just ignored the growl and continued doing what I was doing before. Overtime, Lapras did open up to me I even managed to slightly lessen the pain on her injured fin.
Leaf:You see Lapras I only need to add this bandage and after 4 months it should heal. However, you should be able to swim and surf now.
Lapras made a smooth and happy cry as I fell asleep. Lapras looked over at her shell and saw I was resting on it. Instead of being hostile she bent her neck over and fell asleep as well.
(Next Morning) As soon as we woke up we saw the gleaming sun staring down at us.

Leaf:*yawns* Lapras it seems like we slept off. How are you doing?
Lapras:*calming cry*
Leaf:You know what how about you join me. We can travel the world alongside my team and we'll definitely be doing a lot of swimming.
Lapras gave me a shocked and happy at the same time expression. When I held out my pokéball she smiled and pressed it against her horn.
CONGRATULATIONS! LEAF CAUGHT A WILD LAPRAS
Leaf:*holding Lapras' pokéball against her cheek* Don't worry Lapras you'll be welcomed amongst us and have a great time.
After that we decided to stay here for a few more days before leaving to Saffron City.
