"Get off your phone and pay attention to me, who are you texting?" I whined, sitting in a booth at the sushi joint we always go to.
"You picked a good one." Minho smiled.
"You're already talking to Jisung?" I gasped. He can really move when he wants to.
"It wasn't that hard." He shrugged. "I just threw a ball at the back of his head in gym class and pretended it was an accident. I thought he was going to start swinging until I pulled out the charm." He smiled proudly, telling me the beginning of their blossoming romance.
"Well, Felix declined my follow request on Instagram." I pouted, shoving a piece of sushi in my mouth. "Ask your 'friend' how I could talk to him."
"No." He shook his head. "I'm not helping you with this, the same way you're not helping me. It's a part of the bet."
"Stop adding rules!"
"Stop being a baby." He mocked my childish attitude, then reached over to grab a piece from my plate.
"Ridiculous." I scoffed.
Minho went back on his phone, frantically texting with a straight face. This isn't a competition. If we both get the job done, neither of us has to suffer. But I don't like that he's ahead of me in a game that I consider myself to be a pro at playing.
"I will help you one time. Spring break is coming. That means parties. I'll ask Jisung to come and bring a friend."
"What if he doesn't bring Felix?"
"That's his best friend in the whole wide world. Trust me, he'll bring him."
I thought it was an interesting coincidence that we picked a pair of best friends. This could either work in our favor or turn into a major disadvantage. Let's hope they don't start to question why two seniors are shooting their shot at the same time.
"Wait, has Jisung told you things about him?" He sat there with his smart-ass smile and stayed quiet. "I can't stand you."
"Good luck, that's all I'll say."
"What do you mean?" I started to panic. "Is this about to be a nightmare? Minho, did you pick a freak?" Again, he remained silent with the same smile. "I should knock your teeth in right now, just saying." He leaned forward, offering the chance. I just sank in my seat and continued to pout.
"That's what I thought." He took another piece of my sushi and laughed.
"You literally ordered your own, stop eating mine."
"Yours looks better." He shrugged, doing it once more. "Also, I'm hanging out with Jisung this weekend."
"You bitch!" I exclaimed and threw a piece of sushi at his face, only for him to catch it in his mouth. God damn him and his fast reflexes.
"It's my Lee Know charm." Lee Know being a nickname I gave to him when we were kids because I thought the name, Minho, was stupid. Nowadays, we use it to refer to his more charming self. It's like he has two different personalities.
"Fuck you and fuck your charm." I pointed at his face, reaching closer until I pushed my finger on his nose. He sweetly smiled, but there was nothing sweet behind his reason. What a little asshole.
"Why?" He shrugged, tired of my annoying impulsive thoughts.
"I don't know." I started to laugh, taking my hand away from his face. "I wanted to touch your little birthmark."
He reached forward and touched the small mark under my eye. "See how weird this is? Don't be a weirdo in public."
"Okay," I mumbled, feeling my cheeks get red from embarrassment. "What are you guys going to do?"
