Ausar opened his eyes, with a strange feeling all over his body. Sitting up, he held his head, knowing only his name, but not what happened to him. His head was in pain, trying to think about what else he could remember, but there was nothing. All he could think about was his name."I did it, I finally did it," Ausar heard a voice, full of disbelief and joy at the same time, "Yes! I've finally done it!"
Ausar looked to where the voice was heard, right in front of him, where an armored man stood pumping his fists in the air in celebration.
"What did you do? What happened to me?" Ausar asked, "Who are you?"
The armored man stopped as soon as Ausar asked his questions, "Oh, sorry. Let me introduce myself and explain. I am Galath, or as I will soon be called, The Worker of Secrets. Here, let me find you some clothes before I explain what I've done."
Ausar was only filled with confusion as this man, Galath, left him on what appeared to be a table, with a strange machine on the ceiling, pointing down to the center of the table. Once Ausar heard footsteps getting louder, he turned his head to see Galath holding a tunic, trousers, and robe, and presenting them to him.
"Can't have you walking around with nothing on now can I," Galath smiled at him.
Once Ausar had put on the clothes that Galath had given him, he was led out of the room, and up a long flight of stairs.
"You see, I knew who you were before now," Galath explained, "You were dying from what looked like a battle, and I asked if you wanted me to make you feel better."
"So what did you do," Ausar asked, making Galath stop in his tracks.
"I had to kill you. You accepted it and allowed me to do what it took to make you better, and I have," Galath smiled, "I made you into what I am, Deathless."
Ausar stepped down a step, "What? What does that even mean?"
"You can be killed, but you can never really experience true death," Galath answered, "You will live for eternity, never age past your prime, or succumb to illness. You are stronger now, both physically and mentally, with no need to eat, sleep, drink, or even breathe as often as other humans."
Ausar took in all of this information quite well, understanding what he meant by it all, but still had questions.
"I understand that you have more questions, but those will have to be answered, later," Galath halted Ausar's thoughts, "For now, there is business to attend to."
Galath started going back up the stairs, with Ausar following him up to a pair of stone doors. Galath opened the doors, and gestured Ausar through, with a warm wind blowing into his face. Ausar walked through the doors, but was greeted by a large hulking figure walking past him, carrying a tree on each shoulder. He took a few more steps out, hearing metal hitting against metal, stone, and wood.
"Welcome to my Empire," Galath introduced the sights being seen to Ausar, "It's small, but it will grow. Unless you want to take that position."
"I'm not sure what to say," the new Deathless shook his head, "Just what are these things?"
Galath chuckled, "You'll get used to them, besides, with you as my first success, I will be able to create more Deathless like you and I, that way we aren't the only ones in this world. Now let's get started."
Ausar was brought out of his daze when Galath said that last sentence, and was brought to what seemed to be an armory. There he was given the choice of armor and weapons to choose from. Nothing really stood out to him, until Ausar looked at an incomplete armor set within the forge, with a blueprint for the armor hanging on the wall.
