Chapter 16: A Crow's Last Flight

Kuoh Academy was surrounded by a barrier put up by Sona Sitri and her Peerage, letting Rias and hers enter so they could deal with Kokabiel.

"I will try to keep this barrier up for as long as I can," Sona informed Rias, "Are you sure that you won't need your brother's help with him? I would highly recommend calling him.

"Funny, I don't see you calling your sister for assistance," Rias retorted, "Besides, I have all the backup I need coming."

"Well as a precaution, I've already informed Sirzechs of the situation and he says that he'll be here in an hour," Akeno spoke up to Rias.

Rias sighed, "Thank you, I do appreciate your support. Now, let's go."

Her peerage all nod their heads, and walk through the opening in the barrier. After walking around the school, they could see the sky turning red, and a strange magic circle across the field, with four of the Excalibur Fragments floating over certain points.

"So Rias, is big brother Sirzechs coming? Or is it perhaps Leviathan that is coming," a voice from above asked.

The peerage looked up to see a floating throne with someone sitting in it. It was one of the Grigori, Kokabiel.

His face soon lit up with an idea, "Oh, or perhaps it is your lover, Ausar!"

Rias scowled at Kokabiel, "What does he have to do with this?"

"Well quite a bit, but since I am not in the mood to reveal everything I know about him to you yet," Kokabiel thrust his hand towards the ground in front of the young Devils, "I'll let you play with my pet for now."

From the ground, flames spewed out of cracks that formed on the ground. From those flames, a three-headed dog emerged snarling and growling.

Rias recognized the figure right away, "You've summoned Cerberus here?!"

"Doing so is forbidden," Akeno pointed out.

"Well now that I will be starting a Second Great War, it won't matter," Kokabiel laughed, "Once Sirzechs or Serafall arrive, then the war can truly begin."

"You are insane," Rias exclaimed, "Why would you want to start another Great War?!"

"Because of how the last one ended," Kokabiel roared, "That old bastard Azazel pulled us out just after Ausar became the Vile, the monster that he truly is!"

"What would you know about him, he never wanted to remember that part of his life," Rias yelled at the Fallen.

"Well it's because I am the one who pushed him to become that person," Kokabiel revealed with a wide and evil smile, "Once he was at his most broken, that was when I would have been able to kill him and gained the weapon that would be able to kill even the most powerful beings to exist! And now I have the honor of causing the death of another of his loved ones!"

Once Kokabiel finished his rant, Cerberus lunged for the devil peerage. They scattered with Issei and Kiba summoning their weapons, and Akeno magically changing into her priestess outfit. As they engaged in combat, Kiba made his way towards the magic circle that was to fuse the Excalibur fragments.

"Now witness the fruits of my experiments," an old man said, "Freed, if you would."

The rogue priest made his appearance, standing against Kiba with a sword of Light. The two started fighting on even terms, yet Freed was outmatched in terms of speed. Both of their blades clashed as they seemed to endlessly dance. However, Kiba noticed the circle getting brighter and brighter, slowly though, with time to take down Freed.

Issei and Koneko focused on Cerberus, only to see more flames spew out from the crack in the ground. From those flames, another two beasts, identical to Cerberus walked out and roared on the battlefield.
