Chapter 17: Letting Go

A day had passed since the night that Kokabiel attacked Kuoh, with all the damage and bodies being cleared before sunrise.

Right now, Rias and the ORC were standing in the main Clubroom, with a newcomer to both the school, and the peerage.

Xenovia Quarta.

She had been exiled as a heretic for her newly acquired knowledge of God's death, and thus she had nowhere to go. That was until Y/n offered her a place as his student of the sword, and put in a good word with Rias as well so she could be a part of her peerage. Rias had accepted Xenovia and underwent the ritual without any difficulties, and was glad to have the wielder of Durandal at her side.

When Irina heard that Xenovia was labeled a heretic and exiled from the Church, she was quite upset. After she was given the Excalibur Fragment Pieces, she was sent back to the Vatican, where they would reform the swords, and Y/n gave the Pope a message.

"The next time these swords are taken by any opposing force, I will claim the Fragments myself."

Irina understood that this was the message that Y/n wanted the Vatican to understand, that they can't afford to keep their relics unsecured and unguarded.

"Everyone, welcome my first student, and newest member of the Student Body and Occult Research Club," Y/n smiled.

"No way, what's Xenovia doing here," Issei demanded to know.

Xenovia's only response was her spreading her Devil Wings, catching Issei and Asia both by surprise.

"Lord Y/n offered a place for me, to train under his tutelage, and a place in Rias' peerage, and I accepted," Xenovia further explained to the two.

"So now that this is taken care of, we have other duties that need to be attended to," Y/n smiled, making the entire room, aside from Rias, wait with anticipation.

They were seen in front of a cesspool of murk, leaves, and scum. The sad part about it was that this was Kuoh's Swimming Pool, and the Student Council would usually be the ones who take care of it.

"So why are we cleaning the pool," Issei asked the golden question.

"Well, since Sona and her peerage helped us defeat Kokabiel by putting up the barrier, it's only fair that we take a piece of their workload," Rias explained, "Plus, Sona said that if we do this, we get to use it for the rest of the day."

"Woah, really? That's so cool," Issei yelled with excitement.

"Now hold on Issei," Y/n held his hand up, "Before you get excited, I don't think it's wise to clean in your class uniform."

With that, a blue glow enveloped Y/n, changing from his class uniform to a pair of clothes that he didn't care would get dirty. He was going to shower after cleaning the pool anyway.

"Now, let's get started," Y/n announced, heading to the closet with cleaning supplies.

Soon enough, everyone was wearing work clothes, and cleaning the floor of the pool. Y/n was scooping all the muck and scum from the deepest parts of the pool and putting them in a bucket.

Issei kept scrubbing with the broom he had, but asked a question, "Do you think it's appropriate of the Future King of Deathless to be cleaning a school pool?"

"Oh please," Y/n scoffed, "This is the least of my worries. I'd be more worried if one of the Soulless' titans were to attack school grounds."

"Fair," Issei shrugged.

Within an hour, the pool floor was sparkling, with everyone now in swimwear. Y/n however, was in a white button down short sleeve t-shirt, and a pair of black and gold swim trunks. His eyes had drifted over to Rias and Akeno, both of whom were wearing their own bikinis, wanting to show off for him. Koneko and Asia were both in school swimming uniforms, and Kiba was wearing what looked like racing trunks, swim cap, and a pair of goggles, likely for swimming laps.
