- Over here please. - He was escorted by Colonel Viruet inside the place. - I have read your books about your research and findings. They are very interesting and I see that just like their predecessor works alone

- That's right, in fact he was my teacher

- Oh, then, my sense of condolences, I do not knew him very well. He was very reserved. - The Colonel added.

- Thanks, yes he was. Did you notice something strange while doing the research? Especially in his state of health?

- Unfortunately not, he hardly informed me and Count Harper about progress.

- Does the Inspector inform the father of the victim about the investigation?

- Yes, they dined together, especially the last nights of Inspector Jarvet's life. He must have esteemed the Count. Being very affected by the death of his child.

Just several meters from the entrance to the morgue, a young man was seen standing guard with a uniform almost as implacable as the Colonel. For the style of his uniform it was appreciated that he was an official rookie with silver hair. In his right pocket his name was read "Knight" A young man very awake and focused on his work.

- Do you have a guard watching the entrance? - Something like it, that's Sub Lieutenant Zero Knight. A boy with good punctuation in the tests, good leadership ability, agility in the combat, quite influential and until the morning of yesterday was the only person of interest of the Inspector. Everything changed when Jarvet entered my office and reported that the boy was no longer of interest. Without giving further explanations he left the place and around 2100 the maid found him dead in his room. - The boy, where was he? - Asked Cautillo Inspector stopping the walk.

- Both he and his classmates were preparing for Lieutenant's tests. There are witnesses that confirmed that he was in the classrooms studying. I did a tiny investigation using your books as guides, of course! - The Colonel replied very aptly, Raniel did not doubt his words.

- He never said suspect? Only interest?

- Yes sir.

- Very good, if it is not of interest. Is there any reason why he is standing alone over here? - Questioned Raniel quite intrigued while resumed their way reaching the entrance where the youngman was in the form of attention, completely straight and with his fists closed.

- He will provide protection. - Colonel Viruet affirmed as he stood next to the Sub Lieutenant. - Besides the logistics of my recruits and the preparations for the storm have me quite busy, he will help you around.

- I do not need a boy to protect me. - He said in an annoyed tone.

- It's your investigation, but it's my Academia and I do not want a third death. Also he was one of the ones who found the corpse of the recruit in front of the female dormitory and helped with the removal of the cadaver of the Inspector.

Both men faced the youngman. Raniel's presence was a shocking one. Zero himself felt much more intimidated by the new Inspector than by his official superior.

(He does not look guilty to me but a mouse comes out of any mesh. What is the deal with his silver hair?)

- Zero, the Inspector will be investigating the unfortunate death of the recruit Harper and you will be his guide and personal assistant I am still with my hands full with the evacuation by the storm.

- Understood, sir! - Answered Zero with a firm voice.

- I need to investigate the room where Jarvet stayed and interview witnesses who have not left the island.

- Most of the witnesses as well as the recruits have guarded in the outskirts of the island. - Cometed Viruet - It will be only for four days starting from tomorrow. Only until the storm passes.

(That does not help much, I'll have to do what I can with the little time I have)

- After the murder, someone left the island? - Asked the Inspector.

- Nobody has entered, nobody has left since the terrible event. Only the evacuation of the King was authorized today. Do not worry we have a manifesto. - Colonel Viruet affirmed.

They entered the morgue where there were only three tables. Only in the middle was Inspector Jarvet's corpse covered in a sheet. Raniel got close enough in a hurry. In a way, he wished he could see with his own eyes the corpse of who once was his teacher and friend. Very respectfully he lifted the sheet to see the face of the deceased. In turn nostalgic memories of his training with Jarvet made him remember how he should carry out his research.

(The place, nor his body have a bad smell, it seems that there are not many deaths around here. Each instrument looks like a newly acquired one.)

- Rest old friend. - Raniel said loudly to himself. For a moment he had forgotten his companion.- Do you know who he interviewed?

- To my understanding he only talked with the two girls who that were with Sub Lieutenant Knight that evening, other than, like I said he was very reserved. - The Colonel affirmed.-

- Not even you, boy?

- No, - answered Zero without understanding the question well. - He questioned the Teninte Fay and Colin, one of the mechanics of the hangar.

(He did not question you, why? You were a person of interested.)

- Pass me the report of the forence. - Zero looked around without finding a portfolio that indicated what the Inspector had requested. Quickly the Colonel handed him the portfolio while he went back to the side of the room chewing tabacco.

- Here it says nothing, what doctor does this? He analyzed the corpse while watching the report.

- Sir, the island is run by the recruits. We do not have foreseeable doctors in the place

- You have not had an autopsy? - Asked annoyed while lowering the savanna realizing that the chest was intact. - It has not even been opened, boy, give me the scalpel.

- A forensic Doctor was requested but you arrived first. - Raniel just ignored the words of the Colonel putting on gloves and concentrated on how to perform correctly the insicion. Zero barely approaches the utencilis without knowing what to look for.He looked at the Colonel who gave him the instrument in his hands, which was delivered to the Inspector who began the surgical procedure to the corpse through dissection to determine the cause, and manner of death.

It was then that Zero felt that his stomach was unruly. I had already seen a dead man but never one embalmed. The smell was intense and the way Raniel broke the ribs of the corpse made the youngman more dizzy. He ran to the sink where he returned most of his dinner. Colonel and Raniel did not seem to care what was happening to him.

(His organs do not look good, too much for him to have been dead for less than 24 hours. The stomach looks destroyed.)

- I need to go to his room in the hotel where he was staying immediately. - He said.

- Yes sir - Zero answered.-

- Call me Inspector Cautillo

(I'll find out who did this to you, I swear)

Raniel covered his old friend again with the sheet that covered him, he did not finish the autopsy and left the chest of the corpse open.- Burn this body Coronel. We will go where the Inspector stayed.Raniel proceeded to wipe his hands watching through the window and thought he saw a crow watching him.
