Doc

Ren was still in his room. Doc didn't think the party would upset him so bad. He went to the hermit's collective kitchen and got together the ingredients of peanut butter cookies. He knew it was Ren's favourite, and spent the next hour or so making them just the way Ren liked them. He knocked on the door to Ren's sleeping area in the code that they had made together. Ren came out, grumpy, but his eyes lit up when he saw the cookie. "Sorry, Ren," Doc said, and handed him the cookie. "We didn't mean to upset you."

Doc scratched Ren behind the ears and he visibly relaxed. They sat like that for a while, Doc silently comforting Ren.

Ren sat up suddenly. He looked stressed. "Are you here to tell me to leave?" Doc stared at Ren, his eye widening in surprise, on account of the fact that the other one was robotic. "Who told you you had to leave?" Doc couldn't unsee the pain that washed over Ren's gaze. "So it's true, then?" Doc tried to hide the single tear that formed in his eye. He grabbed Ren's hand and looked into his eyes. "No! We need you! I understand how you feel. Tango stressed me out when he came." He paused. "Still, we found our own places on the team. You and Grian will be no different. I promise."

Doc could tell he helped. Was now the time? "And..." Doc hesitated, "I need you."

Ren buried his head in Doc's chest. "I need you too. We do this together?"

"Together forever." Doc said, embracing Ren, who'd somehow found his way into his heart after Doc had vowed to never let anyone in again. They snuggled together for the rest of the night, and neither wanted to let go in the morning. Doc quietly left in the morning, as he was needed for a meeting. "I love you." he whispered to Ren before leaving. "Always and forever."

Doc burst into the meeting room to find the Hermit board had already gathered. He was the last one in the meeting. "WHO TOLD REN HE WAS GOING TO GET KICKED OUT?!?!" Doc roared and flipped the meeting table. Most of the Hermits trembled in fear, as an angry six-foot five cyborg is not exactly someone you want to mess with. "WHO DID?!? WHO MESSED WITH MY REN?"

X was the only one who managed to remain calm, as he wasn't vulnerable to Doc's rage. "Doc, no one told Ren he had to leave. Remember what happened when Tango came? Ren jumped to that conclusion the same way you did."

Doc slowly regained his composure, and even managed not to flip more than five tables.

"Yeah. I guess you're right. Still, I want this "Grian" guy out. You're letting him terrorise my Ren."

"He's not "terrorising" Ren." X countered. "He's existing."

Cleo realised that Doc was calm enough to tease him about his love life. ""My Ren", Doc?" She teased. ""My Ren?" Looks like someone has a crush!"

Doc blushed, or at least tried to. His cyborg side couldn't blush at all and his creeper side turned a horrible marshy brown.

"Ooo! Am I onto something?" She teased. "You two are very cute together, you know." Doc's sort-of-blush got redder. "No!" He yelled, sounding like a pouty child. "I don't like him!"

"Mhm." Cleo's voice was heavy with sarcasm. "Totally."

Ren came into the room. "Hey my dudes." Doc whipped around. "Did you hear that?"

Ren put his hand on doc's shoulder. "Yup!" Doc didn't know he could blush this hard. "Don't worry. I love you too." Doc sighed in relief. This was the beginning of a glorious new chapter.

"Looks like I was onto something." Cleo said. At this moment, Doc couldn't care less.
