A/n: This is gonna be more like a prologue than a chapter.

Elaine shifted as she hid behind the crates. Sounds of blasters and fighting rung outside, and she was afraid. More people were after her? Or maybe the Child? She shivered quietly. The Nikto guards had been very forceful when they told her to be quiet and she didn't want to get on their nerves again.

She felt the healing cut on her arm, a dark gash on her olive skin, and winced. Elaine wished her Mami or Papi was here to help, but they were killed when she was taken.

Suddenly, the sounds of fighting ceased and the guards tensed. The moments of silence was broken by the door being blasted open. The guards attacked but we're shot down.

"Anyone else?" A man's voice asked.

"The tracking fobs are still active." An artificial voice noted. "My sensors indicate that there are two life forms present."

Elaine squirmed in her seat, they were after her. She heard a beeping that fluxuated until it settled on one area. As sure as she was they couldn't find her, Elaine didn't know that the man activated his thermal vision and found her.

"I can see you. Come out." He ordered.

Slowly, Elaine got up from behind the crates and revealed herself to a droid and Mandalorian. Her soft brown eyes darted between the two and an egg shaped pod fearfully. She didn't want them to hurt the Child.

The Mandalorian didn't show it, but he was shocked to see a child so young here. The Client had given him very little information, only that one of the assests was the last of their kind and had white horns. Looking at the girl (who seemed no older than five) he saw that she did have white horns that protruded from her dark brown hair in a gentle curve.

His fob beeped ferociously at her presence, and the other one beeped in the direction of the pod the girl kept glancing at. The Mandalorian opened it, revealing a small green creatue with long ears and dark eyes. It cooed with curiosity as it looked at the bounty hunters, then happily at the girl.

"Wait. They said 50 years old." The Mandalorian said.

If the IG could shrug, it probably would have. "Species age differently. Perhaps it could live many centuries." It pointed it's blasters at the children.

"No." The Mandalorian said. "We'll bring them in alive."

"The commission was quite specific. The assets wereto be terminated."

Elaine whimpered and moved closer to the Child in hopes to protect him. She closed her eyes and waited for the shot. She winced when she heard the shot, but no pain. Confused, she looked up to see the Mandalorian holding his blaster near the now destroyed IG-11.

Shocked and somewhat grateful, Elaine stared up at the Mandalorian in awe. He looked down at her before moving to the pod and peering down at the Child.
