A/n: I got some art for Elaine!!! Sorry her eyes are weird, I just did it really quick, just assume she's tired. And the outfit she's wearing in the pic is the one she gets in this chapter. Also, I looked it up, and Elaine is French for "shining light" or "bright". I didn't know that when I picked it, I just thought it was pretty and somewhat Star Warsy, but it's perfect for her!

Elaine was determined to be good after the Mandalorian rescued them. She may have only been five, but her Mami had taught her to be a good, polite girl. The Child on the other hand, seemed to want to grab everything. Elaine watched anxoiusly Mando spotted him.

"Stop touching things." He said as he sat the Child in the seat next to Elaine. Mando turned back to his map. "Let's see. Sorgan. Looks like there's no star port, no industrial centers, no population density. Real backwater skug whole." He turned to look at the kids. "Which means it's perfect for us. You ready to lay low and stretch your legs for a couple of months, you little womp rats?"

Mando smiled under his helmet when Elaine giggled. "Nobody's gonna find us here."

Mando landed the Razor Crest in the middle of a forest clearing. He opened the ramp and stood to leave.

"Listen." He told Elaine. "I'm gonna go out there and I'm gonna look around. It shouldn't take too long. Now, don't touch anything."

Elaine nodded. "Okay."

"I'll find us some lodging, then I'll come back for you." Mando turned to the Child. "You stay right here. You stay. Don't move. You understand?"

The Child grunted in response.

"Great." Mando turned and left. He stood on the ramp for a moment, taking in his surroundings. The forest was a lush green and the trees towered above him. Just as Mando was about to leave, a small coo caused him to look down next to him.

Elaine stood there holding the Child to her chest. They both stared up at him with such an intesity, Mando almost believed they could see through his helmet.

He sighed. "Oh, what the hell? Come on."

He walked down the ramp and Elaine skipped after him eagerly. Soon, they came to a small village and entered an inn, but not before the Child was spooked by a Loth Cat.

"Welcome, travelers." A woman greeted them as they sat down. "Can I interest you in anything?"

"Bone broth, for the little one." Mando said. He had noticed another woman staring at him in the corner and was keeping an eye on her.

"Oh, well, you're in luck. I just took down a grinjer, so there's plenty." The friendly woman turned to Elaine. "Can I get you anything, dear?"

"Umm.." Elaine seemed to shrink at the woman's question and Mando stepped in for her.

"She'll have broth too."

The woman smiled. "Can I interest you in a porringer of broth as well?"

"Just the two."

"Very well." The woman turned away but Mando stopped her.

"That one over there. When did she arrive?"

The woman shrugged. "I've seen her here for the last week or so."

"What's her business here?" Mando asked.

The woman chuckled. "Oh, well, there's not much business in Sorgan, so I can't say. She doesn't strike me as a log runner."

Mando tossed her some credits, hoping to buy some information out of her, but apparently she didn't get the hint.
