Gregory: Okay, you have one shot at this... Don't mess anything up. Gregory thought as he sprinted back to the garage where Foxy was setting up for a birthday party, panic surged like a tidal wave. He burst into the room, breathing heavily, as he approached Foxy, who was moving a bunch of spare tires into a different room.
"Foxy! Foxy! Something's wrong with Roxy! She's in trouble!" Gregory blurted out, his voice shaky.
"Woah, woah, woah, calm down," Foxy started, setting down a tire he was moving. "What's wrong, lad?"
"It's Roxy! She's in trouble!" Gregory blurted out, the urgency evident in his voice.
"What!" Foxy's eye widened, "What happened to Roxy? Where is she?"
"No time to explain! Follow me!" Gregory turned and ran, Foxy hot on his heels. His mind wrestled with the guilt of what he was about to do and the fear of Vanny's wrath should he disobey. They navigated through the corridors, down to the furnace, and into the cavern where Roxy was.
"Roxy!" Foxy called out as they entered the cavern. Gregory stepped back into the darkness and watched Foxy struggle to find his beloved wolf.
Roxy turned toward the familiar voice, her optics flickering as she tried to focus. "Foxy, stop! Don't come closer! It's a trap!"
Ignoring her plea, Foxy rushed to her side, concern etched on his face. "What's going on, Roxy? What happened?" He knelt down beside her, trying to assess what was causing her malfunction.
Meanwhile, Gregory silently sidestepped to the other side of the cavern, where a rope could activate his trap. He contemplated triggering it now; that way, everything would end, and he could finally not have to listen to Vanny again.
"It was Gregory... he... he pressed a controller... caused my malfunction," Roxy stammered, her energy depleted, struggling to move. "Y-you need to get out of here!"
"What?" Foxy, bewildered, shook his head in denial. "Nah, Roxy, that can't be true. He wouldn't do that... Why would he do that?"
To save myself, that's why. Gregory thought to himself, though his heart seemed to break hearing Foxy's voice, realizing he had damaged the pirate's trust. He tugged the rope a bit, testing the weight of the go-kart on the ceiling. He picked up a sharp rock and prepared to cut the rope.
"H̵e̵h̶ehe, go̶ ah̵e̴ad̴, G̸r̴egory̷. Pu̶ll̶ t̴he̴ ro̷p̵e and̴ sa̷ve̴ y̶o̷urs̶elf̶,̵" Vanny whispered behind him.
But... He's my friend; I don't really want to hurt him... The conflict in Gregory's mind intensified. Still in denial, Foxy pulled a chip out of Roxy's neck, stopping her malfunction. Foxy hugged Roxy, assuring her that everything was okay now. However, Roxy's energy was depleted, and she struggled to move, recovering from the pain.
"H̴urr̵y̴ up̷, ch̵ild̴...̵," Vanny taunted, practically breathing down Gregory's neck. He heard the twisted rabbit take her knife out and gently tap it. "D̴o̴ t̴his̴,̴ and̴ y̴ou̴r̵ l̴if̵e̵ will̶ be̶ sp̶ar̴e̶d."
I'll be safe... she won't kill me... Gregory hesitated. The weight of the decision pressed heavily on his shoulders. He glanced at Roxy, struggling on the ground, and then at Foxy, who desperately tried to understand the situation. The conflict within him peaked, and he pulled the rock back to cut the rope.
"Foxy, it's not safe with Vanny here..." Despite her pain, Roxy weakly told the fox as Gregory was about to make the fatal cut. "She's here somewhere... I... I saw her."
"Uh oh," Now on alert, Foxy stood up and turned towards Gregory, realizing the danger. "Gregory, I don't mean to worry you, but Vanny seems here right now. We need to leave before she comes back."
