At Vihaan's House 🏘 :

Just as Vihaan opens the door, he opens his mouth with the same confused frown but then closes it seeing Kirti following his brother inside. His frown deepens seeing the couple there at such hour.

"What're you guys doing here at this time?" He asks looking at the wall watch again and looks outside the door.

"Nikki is at Arika's house for a sleep over." Vihaan turns to Kirti who further informs, "Dad asked us to drop her there tonight and let her know that we have some urgent work tonight with him. She will attend her school tomorrow from there with Ari."

"She could have stayed here." Vihaan points out.

"I said the same thing but he was like I know. Just do it." Kirti says shrugging.

"Ohkay. . . . He called me in the study just now too. And how come you guys are this late when Dad called you home?" Vihaan asks confusedly.

"Because Dad said to only come when he calls us again." Tej states with an emotionless tone.

"You didn't tell me?" Vihaan says narrowing his eyes at his brother cum childhood friend.

Tej sighs and Kirti answers for her husband, "Dad."

"Why would he ask you to not te-"

"I'm not a mind reader, Vihaan!" Tej snaps at him and walks ahead towards the study room leaving a confused Vihaan there with his wife.

"Don't mind him." Comes Kirti's voice. Vihaan looks at his sister-in-law cum best friend. "He told me what happened." She says in a small voice looking at Nishi's room's closed door. Her eyes turn glassy as she gulps.

Vihaan sighs and looks away from her gloomy face which reminds him his Little One's one of many wounds.

He shakes his head and gives her a side hug saying, "Let's not look behind. Hmm?"

Kirti nods gulping a lump and asks, "Can I go and see her just ones? Tej did not let me. Please!"

Vihaan shakes his head with a sad smile saying, "You know why he did not let you, Kirti."

She leaves a shaky breath wiping the corners of her eyes. "Is this why he is in a bad mood?" He asks breaking the hug and puts his hands in his short's pockets.

Kirti nods and says, "He might pretend to stay calm but you know him. . . .whenever it came to Nikki it's not easy for him and now Nishi. . . ." she trails off. Vihaan does not reply understanding well what his friend is going through.

"He is guilty. But he has to let it go. . . .whether he wants to or not." Vihaan says lowly hinting towards the fact that Tej did not feel anything in the beginning for the youngest.

"Are you okay?" She asks the bachelor.

Vihaan gives her a weak smile, "Do I look like?"

Kirti could only stare at his empty eyes. She looks at her sister-in-law's closed door again and asks, "Is she asleep?"

Vihaan nods. "Medicinal effect. I guess that's why Dad waited till she falls asleep." Then he says looking at the chandelier in the hall room, "You know, I wonder how much time it used to take for her to fall asleep when she was not on any meds."
