Dr. Lewis stared at Sam, judgmentally. He had finished his idea of using Klaus, Bucky, Dean, and Loki's worst traumas against them to draw out the kids.
"Absolutely not," Dr. Lewis said.
"Doctor, please," Sam begged.
"Sam, do you know what you are asking," Dr. Lewis asked, leaning his elbows on the desk, "One, for me to break confidentiality. Two, for me to assist in something that could undo all of the treatment these four are receiving."
"And if you don't what do you think will happen? Hope and Jack gain bigger targets on their backs. Avengers get involved. They end up imprisoned, or worse, someone dies," Sam reasoned, "At this point, we have to pick an evil here."
"Why does there have to be any evil, Sam," Dr. Lewis asked, shaking his head, "I built this office to treat the worst of the worst. Not traumatize them."
Sam was about to continue arguing when a folder hit the desk. Wanda pulled up a chair and sat down in front of Dr. Lewis.
"Dr. Lewis, may I just say, you have quite the reputation," Wanda said.
"Wanda, what are you doing," Sam asked.
Wanda held up a finger, silently telling him to hold on. Sam threw a bitchface at her.
"What's going on here," Dr. Lewis asked.
"Well, you tell me, Dr. Lewis or Lehnsherr," Wanda said.
"So you found my real last name. So what," Dr. Lewis shrugged.
"That's not all I found," Wanda said, opening the folder.
She showed the pictures to him. Dr. Lewis examined the old photos of him. He went deathly silent as his happy demeanor turned hostile.
"Erik Xavier-Lehnsherr. A mutant criminal wanted in multiple countries," Wanda said.
"That's not my name," Dr. Lewis said softly.
"He's killed thousands of innocent victims. Blood stains his hands so much, they might as well be scarlet gloves. I understand why you have hand sanitizer in here now," Wanda said, picking up the bottle.
"I don't know who this man is. I've never seen him," Dr. Lewis said quickly.
"I understand if you haven't. Not many mirrors in here. Is it because you dislike the man you see staring back," Wanda asked.
"Stop..."
"Tell me, Erik Lehnsherr... Excuse me, Lewis. Have you considered the reason why you're so good at your job is because you were once that villain in desperate need of professional help," Wanda asked.
"Dr. Lewis... My name is Dr. Lewis," Dr. Lewis said, his eyes darting between the pictures of him, "I'm a therapist... I'm a professional therapist."
"Wanda..."
"Erik Lehnsherr. You married Charles Xavier. He ran a mutant school. You were a villain. What happened to Charles, Erik," Wanda asked.
"Doctor... I am a doctor..."
"I think you've proven your point, Wands," Sam said, getting nervous.
"Erik!"
Dr: Lewis lifted his eyes to Wanda. Tears stained his lashes as a look of intense fear rested on his face.
"What happened to your husband," Wanda asked, her hands glowing red.
A string of glowing red reached his eyes as Wanda's powers forced him to remember. The memories Dr. Lewis tried to push away were forced out at once.
The memory of fighting Charles. The memory of making up. The memory of him coming to live with Erik. The memory of them getting married. The kid they decided to surrogate together. Then... The argument. The knife. Charles's blood on his hands. His dying breath being used to give Erik one last chance at a good life. Then the birth of Dr. Ernest Lewis.
"Erik... What happened to Charles," Wanda repeated.
"I killed him," Erik said, choking on his sobs, "I killed my own husband. I..."
"We should go," Sam said, grabbing Wanda's arms and dragging her out.
"What the hell was that," Sam snapped, turning to face her when they got outside.
"We needed to, Sam," Wanda reasoned.
"What do you mean 'needed to'? You just traumatized him all over again! I'll be surprised if he even wants to look at any of us anymore," Sam spat.
"Dr. Lewis wouldn't have helped us," Wanda reasoned.
"Well definitely not now," Sam said.
"Sam, Dr. Lewis wouldn't have helped, but Erik Lehnsherr. He will," Wanda explained.
"What makes you certain of that? For all we know he's plotting to kill us now," Sam scolded.
"I know because Charles wanted him to be good. It was his dying wish. Erik won't take that wish away from him,"Wanda said.
"How do you know he won't kill Hope and Jack," Sam asked.
"Erik doesn't go after children if he can help it. He was a villain, but he wasn't evil," Wanda said.
The door opened and Erik stepped out of the office. Wanda and Sam turned around.
"Dr. Lewis, I'm so sorry..."
"Shut up," Erik snapped, making Sam close him mouth, "How did you find these?"
"I did research on you before taking you as my therapist years ago," Wanda explained.
"So this whole time you knew who I was. As you still had me as a therapist," Erik asked.
"Yeah."
"Why," Erik asked.
"Because you understand the mindset of Loki, myself, and the others. You knew the feeling of your back being against the wall and having no choice but to bite," Wanda said, using a cornered dog as an example.
Erik licked his lips while turning his head away.
"I didn't want to..."
"Leave."
"What," Wanda asked.
"Get the hell off of my property," Erik snapped, towering over Wanda, "Before I change my mind."
Wanda walked back to her car. Erik glared at Sam, silently telling him to leave as well. He reached in his pocket, making Erik tense up.
"I, uh, wanted to give this to you. It's Dean's," Sam said, "The last bit of homework you gave him."
He handed over the folded paper. Erik snatched it from his hand. Then Sam made his way back to the car and drove away.
