Erik rubbed hand sanitizer on his palms. Memories had been rushing through his head all night long. He panted lightly as his mind tortured him with the memories of killing Charles.

"Dr. Lewis..."

He turned around to face his secretary, Janice. He put on a false smile.

"Is something wrong," Erik asked.

"Sam Winchester is back," Janice said.

"Send him in, please," Erik said.

"Of course. Are you okay, sir," Janice asked.

"I'm fine. Just a headache," Erik shrugged.

Janice gave a short nod and went to retrieve Sam from the lobby. He walked in, cautiously, unsure what to expect from Erik.

"Dr. Lewis, I received your message," Sam said.

"Lehnsherr, Sam. My last name is Lehnsherr," Erik corrected, "Are they ready?"

"They...?"

"Klaus, Bucky, Dean, and Loki. We have to meet and talk about this. I won't damage their minds even more, so I need to see how much they can take," Erik explained.

"Yes. I can call them," Sam said.

"No need. We'll meet them where they are," Erik said, grabbing his bag.

"Sure. You can follow me or I can drive..."

"I'll follow you," Erik said, walking ahead of Sam.

Erik sat in front of Klaus first. He reviewed his notes last night.

"Klaus, do you still have nightmares," Erik asked.

"No," Klaus said.

"Are you lying to me," Erik asked, looking at him.

"No... Okay, yes. But I'm fine. I can handle it," Klaus said.

"What if you can't," Erik asked, leaning forward.

"What do you mean," Klaus asked.

"You're a hybrid between a vampire and werewolf. Which means you still have a humanity switch. Unfortunately, we can't have a no-humanity Mikaelson running the streets," Erik explained.

"I won't turn it off," Klaus said.

"If you do? What would cause it," Erik asked.

"I don't know," Klaus lied.

"Yes, you do. I know because there has to be times you've considered it. There had to moments it crossed your mind. Am I wrong," Erik asked.

Klaus went silent. He clenched his jaw while dropping his eyes.

"What happened during those moments," Erik asked.

"I saw my father," Klaus said.

"Was he hurting you," Erik asked.

"No... He was me. I looked at my reflection and saw no one but Mikael. I was turning into the man I feared the most. And it scared me," Klaus said, his eyes meeting Erik's.

"You're not him, you know that, right," Erik asked.

"What if I am? What if I am just as bad as he is? I mean I was a shitty father to Marcellus. How do I know that I can be better," Klaus asked, "No one has taught me to be better."

"That's not true. Mikael was a bad example of a father. Your biological father isn't alive. But you did have a father figure, didn't you," Erik asked.

Klaus shook his head with a look of confusion.

"You often spoke about your older brother, Elijah. You mentioned how he always looked after you. He cared about you. He fought for you," Erik said, "His love felt almost unconditional."

"What are you saying? He's my father figure," Klaus asked, his eyes moving to glance at Elijah.

"Who else is allowed to call you Niklaus without any consequence," Erik asked.

"I'm not like him..."

"How do you know? From what I know, Mikael would've been quick to attack his child if they were out of line. But you want to save Hope. You feel remorse for Marcel's treatment. You're not Mikael. You were never his son," Erik said.

Klaus cleared his empty throat as it became difficult to swallow.

"Klaus... You were never Esther's son either. You were Elijah's son," Erik said, making his eyes fill with tears, "You always have been. He was the one who raised you as a parent should."

"It cost him his freedom and life," Klaus said, shaking his head.

"Being a father means making sacrifices for their kid. Elijah made those same sacrifices," Erik said, "Who's son are you, Klaus?"

Klaus wiped away his tears. He felt Elijah's hand on his shoulder, causing him to look up.

"I'm Elijah's son," Klaus said.

Elijah pulled him into a tight hug.

Erik checked off Klaus's name and moved on to the next. He found Loki waiting and pulled up a chair.

"Afternoon, Loki. Are you ready for your session?"
