WARNINGS: Mentions of Characters' Deaths

Tony hung up his phone as Peter walked in.

"Hey, kid," Tony said, "You okay?"

"Not really. Any luck on finding my friends yet," Peter asked, "I'm getting worried."

"Not yet. Klaus and the others are still searching. I'll keep you informed though. I know how much you care about them," Tony said.

"Thanks, Dad. I'm really sorry, by the way. I mean I was supposed to stick this school year out and..."

"Don't beat yourself up. It's been hell for all of us," Tony reassured.

"Okay. I'm going try to get ahold of them again," Peter said, leaving the room.

As soon as he turned the corner, his smile dropped. 'Klaus and the others' more than likely meant Bucky, Loki, and the Winchesters. They need to be careful now.

Klaus got off the phone with his therapist (he had to give his reason for rescheduling). He turned back to his friends.

"Anything," Klaus asked.

"Nope. It's like they fell off the grid or something," Sam said.

"Or they're using a cloaking spell," Loki said, "With how heavily trained Hope and Jack have become, they'll be practically impossible to find."

Bucky walked in with Wilson and Steve behind him.

"I can search the air. Try to find something from high up," Wilson offered.

"Cas is doing the same. Wilson, if you find them..."

"I know, Dean. Don't engage," Wilson reassured.

Bucky kissed him before letting go.

"Be careful," Bucky said.

"You too," Wilson said, walking out.

Klaus sighed stressfully.

"I just need them to be okay," Klaus said, "Maybe I should go..."

"No, Klaus. We talked about this," Bucky said, "First scent of you and they will take off."

"I can't sit here and do nothing," Klaus snapped, "I'm going half-crazy looking for my daughter inside this godforsaken room!"

"We should go get some air then," Steve suggested.

"Steve..."

"We won't search for them. Just going for a walk," Steve said, looking at Bucky.

"Hurry back," Bucky said.

Steve turned to Klaus. He walked ahead of him without a word.

"Klaus."

He sighed and turned around to face Steve.

"What," Klaus asked.

"I'm sorry. I shouldn't have been in that room," Steve said, speaking on what happened to Hayley, "It should've been you and Elijah. Not me."

"But it was you, Rogers," Klaus said, "You were with her. You watched her die... You made sure she wasn't alone in her final moments. For that, I am grateful."

Steve went silent as he realized Klaus wasn't mad at him.

"What did she say to you," Klaus asked.

"She heard all the times you spoke to her. She was also slightly annoyed at me calling her ma'am, for some reason," Steve smiled, making Klaus huff out a chuckle, "She mentioned that you needed me."

Klaus hung his head. He took another deep breath to calm his emotions.

"One of the worst things about immortality is the loneliness," Klaus said softly, "Everyone dies but... Not me."

"My first love name was Peggy. I promised her a dance when I returned from war. Only to find her in the hospital, around 90 years later, and about to die. I stayed with her as long as I could until she...," Steve said, his voice fading.

He stared off into the distance. His attention was brought back when he felt Klaus's hand around his waist.

"Immortality is the best gift and worst curse," Klaus said, "Especially when you're going through it alone."

"Damn, right," Steve sighed.

"Klaus, Steve. We got something," Loki said.

They followed Loki back inside.
