The next month, everyone was making plans to draw out Hope and Jack. Erik had his final therapy sessions with Bucky and Loki.
Sam caught him before he left the mansion that day. Erik sighed deeply, knowing what was coming.
"So... How'd it go," Sam asked.
"They're not ready, Sam," Erik said, lifting his eyes, "These men are fragile. Traumatizing them will do more harm than good."
"Dr. Lewis... Lehnsherr... Whatever name you go by. We have to make it work for Hope and Jack..."
"And what about the thousands of people that will fall victim to these men? Sam, this may help Hope and Jack, but it'll wreck havoc on this earth. No amount of weapons and army soldiers are equipped to handle all four of them. Especially when they fly off the handle," Erik reasoned.
"We can figure it out..."
"Figure it out? Your brother with a gun alone can take out trained soldiers, who have had years of military training. And that's Dean on a good day. You add trauma to that and you have an absolute demon on your hands," Erik reasoned.
"What can we do then," Sam asked.
"I suggest you wait it out. Wait for Hope and Jack to make an appearance. Other than that, you might as well light the world on fire," Erik said, walking out of the mansion.
Sam swiped his hand with his mouth. He turned and punched the wall, making his hand bruise on impact.
"Goddammit," Sam hissed.
"What did he say," Castiel asked, walking up to Sam.
"They're not ready," Sam said, thinning his lips together, "It'll do more damage than good."
"I don't think we have a choice anymore," Wilson reasoned, walking by, "Turn on the news."
Sam did and watched as the news reporter talked about a group of people found dead.
"Oh, fuck me," Dean muttered, walking in with Klaus, Bucky, and Loki behind him.
"This isn't right," Bucky said, shaking his head.
"You're telling me! Jack and Hope have completely lost their shit," Sam snapped.
"No. No. Bucky is onto something. This isn't right because this isn't Jack and Hope," Klaus said.
"What do you mean this isn't them," Wilson asked.
"They would never be sloppy like this. I mean, leaving the bodies for the news to find? Does that sound like Hope and Jack to you," Klaus asked.
"So we have a kill-happy maniac on our hands on top of Jack and Hope now being wanted by the government," Dean said, "Fuck the sober streak. I need a drink."
"Chances are the Avengers..."
Wilson stopped as his cell rang. Bucky's phone rang as well. They answered it.
"Hello," Bucky said.
"Barnes, I need you back here," Tony said, "Bring Wilson with you too."
"What's this about," Bucky asked.
"I'm guessing you saw the news," Tony said.
"Yeah. Crazy, right? You don't really believe it's them," Bucky said.
"Listen, we gave them time. It's out of our hands now," Tony reasoned.
"Stark, c'mon. Hope and Jack are kids. They wouldn't go this far," Bucky reasoned.
"Like I said, it's out of our hands," Tony said.
Bucky held his breath as he waited to hear the words he dreaded.
"Hope Mikaelson and Jack Kline are now enemies of the country. We need to put them down."
