Boarding School Here I Come

Evelyn's POV

The sun peered through my bedroom window making me turn my head, covering my eyes with the covers. Suddenly someone knocked on the door loudly making me groan.

"Leave me alone" I groaned out, annoyed.

"Evelyn wake up. Your going to be late for your first day." My older brother said outside the door.

My eyes opened widely as I looked at the clock. I cursed silently, stumbling out of bed.

"Hold on Derek, I'll be right out." I told my brother.

I hurried to my closet taking my uniform out. I didn't have time for a shower. Thankfully I showered last night. I put my uniform on as quickly as possible and brushed my hair as fast as I could. After I finished the rest of my makeshift morning routine, I put my shoes on, grabbed my bags and rushed down the stairs.

Upon seeing my mom, she hugged me tight.

"I'm going to miss you so much. Are you sure we shouldn't come with you?" She asked worriedly.

"Don't worry mom. I'll be fine." I said hugging my mom back.

My dad comes into view and I hug him tightly before hugging Derek as well.

"I'll miss you." I said, holding back my tears.

"We'll miss you too baby. Here's a snack for the road. " My mom said as she handed me a chocolate donut.

I smiled thankfully and my dad says "Don't forget to tell us if you find your mate."

"I know dad." I said rolling my eyes.

I said my final goodbyes and said goodbye to my friends from school yesterday. I walked to my car, putting my bags in the trunk. I got into the driver's seat and started the car.

Upon driving, I couldn't help but think about what my dad said about telling him if I find my mate. Surely I wouldn't find my mate at boarding school. Right?

'You definitely will.' Skylar, my wolf cheered happily.

'Don't excite me Skylar. Besides, you don't know that.' I told her through the mindlink.

'I can feel it.' She said happily.

Sighing, I began to think about the idea of finding my mate there. Skyler has always been excited about finding our mate. I was excited, I was just scared of getting hurt. Unlike Skylar, I wouldn't run into the arms of someone that hurt me. I'm 17 years old. My 18th birthday is tomorrow. So, if my mate is at the boarding school I'm going to, I wouldn't find out until tomorrow.

Putting my thoughts aside, I park my car in the school's parking lot. I go to the trunk and take my bags out as I slowly walked inside the building. I can do this.

I walked up to the front desk nervously. I hated having to start the conversation. Why was I so anxious?

"Um, excuse me? I'm Evelyn Thorne. I'm new here." I said to the lady at her desk.

She eyed me up and down before typing away on her computer. I stood there awkwardly. Should I repeat myself?

The lady looked back at me. She smiled and said "Welcome Evelyn. It's nice to have you here. I'm Mrs. Steel."

I smiled slightly and a girl later came into the room.

She looked at me and said to Mrs. Steel, "I'm here to escort Evelyn to her room."

Mrs. Steel nodded and continued typing on her computer.

The girl looked at me and told me to follow her before walking off. I grab my bags, walking fast to catch up with her.

"My name is Sarah by the way." The girl said smiling.

"Nice to meet you. By the way, how did you know my name?" I asked confused.

Sarah laughed slightly and said a matter of factly, "Mrs. Steel mind linked me."

Of course. That made sense. I don't know why that didn't come to me in the first place.

"Right. Sorry, I'm just tired." I told Sarah.

"It's fine. Anyways, here's your room." She said opening the door.

"Thanks," I said smiling.

"No problem. You can just chill for the rest of the day. School doesn't start back up until tomorrow." Sarah told me.

I nodded and walked into the room. There was a queen sized bed towards the window, a flat screen TV in front of the bed and a nightstand to the left of my bed. I noticed a desk as well. I walked to the closet and put my clothes away. It was bigger than the average closet, which was great considering all of the things I had. After putting my clothes and shoes away, I took out my the picture of my family, placing it on the nightstand. After unpacking, I decided to shower.

Finally finishing my shower, I change into a comfortable pair of pajama shorts and shirt. I lay on the bed which is surprisingly comfortable and start watching a show called Teen Wolf. It's funny how they portray Werewolves. I mean seriously? Be for real.

As I binge the seasons, my eyes threatened to fall. Eventually I allowed sleep to overtake me.

Hi everyone. This is my first book. What do you think? If there was any mistakes, please let me know. I tried editing, but it is almost 2 in the morning, so I'm tired. That being said, I hoped you enjoyed the first chapter. Also, do you want me to get pictures of who the characters look like? I know some people like that and others would rather imagine themselves.
